‘Next Fall’, the first Broadway play produced by Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, is being praised by the critics! The play is the story of “a gay couple whose relationship is changed by a tragic accident”. Theatre critics are giving the play, which opened in New York last week, rave reviews, calling it “deeply moving” and “surprisingly funny”. Given the content of the play, everyone has to be proud of that! Congratulations to the singer and his partner! I wonder if there are any more projects like this in their future. If there are, I wish them all the best of luck!

Oliver Stone’s Wall Street sequel will not be heading to cinemas for another six months after its studio put the release date back to September.

The movie sees Michael Douglas reprise his role as stockbroker Gordon Gekko and he is joined by Shia LeBeouf, Carey Mulligan and Josh Brolin.

According to Variety, the film had been due for release in the UK and US on April 23 but will now come out on September 23.

The movie is set to head for a gala screening at the Cannes Film Festival in two months time.

Bosses at 20th Century Fox reportedly thought the film would suit a release in the autumn better than the summer as there are already a number of titles scheduled for release this summer.

Shutter Island star Leonardo DiCaprio is looking forward to new movie Inception and said everyone is “in for a treat” with the flick.

DiCaprio, 35, admitted that he is looking forward to the release of the movie by The Dark Knight’s Christopher Nolan, which he starred in alongside Marion Cotillard and Ken Watanabe.

The sci-fi film follows the story of how an idea can change the course of history and sees DiCaprio’s character try to steal a plan that could change the Earth.

Talking about the movie, he said to Empire: “It is complicated. It’s a complicated story-structure, but it’s sprung from the great filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s mind, and he’s been able to take highly complex jigsaw puzzles in a narrative and put them together like we’ve never seen.”

He added: “So everyone’s going to be in for a treat when they see it, including me.”

Bob Einstein plays the role of Marty Funkhouser and he said that the last season has won back fans. He said: “I thought that this year was a real upper. It brought a lot of excitement back to everything and I think it would [be] kind of sad and stupid to stop now. There’s no reason to.”

The Vince Vaughn rom-com Couple’s Retreat appeared little more than a surprisingly witty palm-treed foray to most who saw it.

But a former New York model claims the movie was a vehicle for her image to be turned into a sex prop in a $10million defamation lawsuit she filed today in New York.

The woman, Irina Krupnik, alleges a nearly 10-year-old bikini snap of her was used in the movie which also starred Kristin Davis. Krupnik, who gave rights to a stock agency for the 2001 picture, filed her suit against NBC Universal in New York City.

She claims the stock picture agency apparently sold the photo to the filmmakers. The picture, she alleges, was written into the script as a sex aid for one of the unhappy characters, played by Jon Favreau. In the movie, three couples with relationship problems travel to a wacky island run by a guru who promises to heal their marriages.

Krupnik is a 31-year-old make-up artist who claims she would never allow such “softcore pornography” use of a picture and that the result is damaging her reputation. Thomas Mullaney, her lawyer, said: “It was not a welcome development. That’s really a trashy way to treat somebody.”

The 35-year-old actor has been dating Israeli model Bar Refaeli, 24, for the past five years and admitted a family life is something he has been considering more seriously in recent times.

He said: “I definitely feel a need to make my life about more than just my career. I was thinking to myself how little of it has been lived normally as opposed to being spent on some far-off movie location.

“Family is something I’m starting to think about more and more, especially now that my grandmother is no longer around.

“It makes you think about the impermanence of things and how important it is to be part of a family – to have some meaning apart from your work.”

Celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz has enlisted the help of a private investment company to pull her out of a cavern of debt.

Leibovitz, the artful star photographer to Vanity Fair, will keep the rights to her celebrity images as part of the deal, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Among her most famous portraits are those of a pregnant and naked Demi Moore and those of Miley Cyrus (pictured). Leibovitz will work on a book series to showcase her work and a travelling exhibition of her photographs.

Leibovitz found herself mired in serious debt, owing $24million to Art Capital Group, and facing legal action. She had been planning to sell her art collection and homes in New York before a lawsuit was withdrawn last year. She has now signed a deal with private equity firm Colony Capital to get out of the mess. Leibovitz told the Financial Times: “We will be working on new projects and I will have the support and freedom necessary for nurturing my work and preserving my archive.”

Jack Bauer’s ‘24′ could be ticking down to its final hour – at least on the small screen.

The hit TV show is set to call it quits at the end of its current season, the eighth, according to US reports.

But insiders believe there will certainly be a 24 movie – with Kiefer Sutherland coming back as Bauer and heading to Europe to fight the bad guys.

An announcement on the future of the TV series is expected soon, according to the reports.

“Insiders say a decision to end 24 after this season could be announced within a week or so,” claimed the New York Post.

“Numbers for the once-solid ratings-grabber are down, and many critics and fans have commented on the show’s ‘been there, done that’ feeling this season.”

The current season, set for the first time in New York, is averaging 11.4 million viewers in the US – down from 12.7 million last season and 13.2 million the season before. At its peak, in 2005-06, it averaged almost 14 million viewers.

Neither Fox nor the show’s producer, 20th Century Fox TV, has commented.

It’s probably as good a choice as any for a person of Amy Winehouse’s stature. Quick, easy and permanent… or at least until the next day’s hangover finally passes. It looks like Amy Winehouse might carry out her plans of remarrying Blake Fielder-Civil in Las Vegas of all places. This is what a source said on the matter: “They will definitely be getting married and have agreed on Las Vegas. Amy doesn’t want a traditional ceremony and wants it to be similar to their first wedding. She chose not to marry in Miami again because she thinks it could be a bad omen. She can’t stop talking to people about their future together.” Quick, easy and without too much hassle… and with respect for the Gods and omens alike, is Amy Winehouse a practical woman or what?

It looks like the singer is going to try his luck with the American Justice System in the case of his soliciting a carrot wax from an undercover policewoman. D’Angelo has pleaded not guilty to the accusations and this is what he said in a statement on the matter: “I hope the public will allow the American justice system to resolve the matter before jumping to any conclusions.” The way it was told so far, it seems that D’Angelo was the one doing all of the jumping, but he’ll probably get lucky and get off easy for this. And even if he doesn’t get off easy, it will take forever to finally pay his dues to society.

Uma Thurman’s latest film Motherhood took in a paltry $132 at the UK box office on its debut weekend.

Digital Spy reports the movie about a mother and Greenwich Village blogger preparing for her daughter’s sixth birthday party pulled in just $15 on Sunday in a three-day screening at London’s Apollo Piccadilly Circus. The website claimed one person only attended on the Sunday.

A Guardian-Observer review of the movie on Sunday would not have helped. The paper wrote: “Mayor Rudy Giuliani turfed the begging winos out of New York City, only for them to be replaced [so one infers from the films Julie & Julia and Motherhood] by blogging whiners.”

The movie, due to now go to DVD, did better in the US but was deemed a box office flop with its $50,000 takings at 48 venues last October, reaching a total of $98,900 when it wrapped up its theatrical run in November.

Lindsay Lohan is suing an online stock trading firm for $100 million, claiming a “milkaholic” baby called Lindsay used in a TV commercial is based on her.

The actress says in a lawsuit that financial firm E-Trade has caused her pain and suffering after airing the television advert, which features the talking, boyfriend-stealing tot.

Lawyers for Lohan, 23, filed a lawsuit in Nassau County Supreme Court in New York, the New York Post reports.

Lohan’s legal representative, Stephanie Ovadia, said: “Many celebrities are known by one name only, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit. They used the name Lindsay. They’re using her name as a parody of her life. Why didn’t they use the name Susan? This is a subliminal message. Everybody’s talking about it and saying it’s Lindsay Lohan.”

She now hopes to get an injunction to stop the ad being broadcast.

Chris Brown, a spokesman for Grey Group, which produced the promo, said it “just used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team”.

E-Trade could not be reached for comment.
