The Manchester United football team hit New York’s party scene full throttle on Monday night. They shook their thing so hard they even made the gossip page of the New York Post which reported that they danced with belly dancers and downed champagne “in a celebratory mood” until 4am. Premier players Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand, also hit a series of hot spots on Sunday night – including a Moulin Rouge-themed burlesque show at the raunchy club Lavo. “The team and their staff took over about half of the restaurant,” an onlooker told the NYC news. “Once the music started after dinner, they were dancing on the tables,” they added. “Then the belly dancers arrived and they were completely mesmerised. Ryan Giggs got up and was dancing with a belly dancer on a table, while the other guys were laughing,” continued the witness. The players, who are on a tour of the USA, were celebrating after Saturday’s win against Chicago and before their pending game on Tuesday against the MLS All-Star team, which boasts David Beckham, in Harrison, N.J.

Khloe Kardashian’s basketball star husband hit a trendy New York nightspot without his wife. The Los Angeles Lakers player was in the city ahead of his Friday night game at Madison Square Garden against the hometown Knicks. Odom, 31, and teammate Luke Walton showed up at Manhattan’s Juliet Supper Club on Thursday night.

Tom Brady reportedly set to undergo foot surgery

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly set to undergo foot surgery. The 33-year-old sportsman will have foot surgery to try and correct a stress fracture that he has in his right foot, according to the Boston Globe. However the report claims he may try and push the surgery back until a little later on January 24. He has been suffering with the injury throughout the football season but has managed not to miss a game as he has been receiving treatment from medical staff. However it was decided that he needs to have surgery to properly correct the problem. When the operation goes ahead, a screw will be put into Brady’s foot and he should then be ready to continue training.

Thierry Henry buys $14.85m home in New York block where Heath Ledger died

Football star Thierry Henry has reportedly bought a stunning $14.85m triplex apartment in the same New York apartment block where actor Heath Ledger died. The French striker, now living in New York after signing on to the city’s New York Red Bulls, paid $9m for the top two floors of the beautiful building in hip Soho, according to reports. He also bought the apartment on the floor below his penthouse for a reported $5.85m, which he is planning to combine once the current owner moves out. The spacious 5,607sq ft apartment which has another 4,500sq ft of outdoor space, including a bamboo garden also boasts an open chef’s kitchen, a media room with wet bar and a 72in built-in flat-screen TV, while the master bedroom has two separate his and hers dressing rooms with their own “rain” showers. Celebrities including Lenny Kravitz, Courtney Love, and Nicole Kidman have all lived in the block, where the tragic Batman star died of an overdose in January 2008. “Henry was the first person who saw it,” said broker Ivan Prochko. “He viewed it three times in two days. After that, we had an accepted offer.”

US Open Fight Broke Out During the Tennis Match

A fight broke out between spectators on the Arthur Ashe Stadium midway through the first set of the Novak Djokovic vs Philipp Petzschner match.
Not sure who started the verbal yelling first but the grandpa and the lady certainly attacked the young guy for sure. What do you think?

The new Jubilani football manufactured by Adidas seems to indeed present some problems, but at this point in the championship the players are just going to have to get used to it since FIFA isn�t planning on doing anything. Jerome Vackle, general secretary for FIFA had this to say on the matter: “We’re not deaf, FIFA is not unreceptive about what has been said about the ball.” But why stop the whole competition over such a trifle as a few problems with the football? After all, as long as the game is played by the rules, there need be no concern about a few technical issues.

It would appear that the former Brazilian football superstar is not very happy with how his team�s latest game went down and he too is pretty convinced that there was a bit of lack of fair play on their part. This is what he commented on the game: “What’s tragicomic is the referee’s smile afterwards. When I scored the goal against England, I didn’t see the referee laugh. He had so many doubts, he looked at his linesmen, there was no fourth referee at that time, he looked at the crowd to see if they gave him a hand. But on Sunday, the referee went back to the centre circle laughing and that’s what shocked us all.” But nothing is probably going to be done about it and that�s the saddest part. At least Maradona has the gal to stand up and speak the truth for all to hear.

This is what David Suazo said of the predicament: “We are hoping that from now to Wednesday I will be able to respond positively as regards my being available to play and to how much of a role I can play.� Well, hopefully the team from Honduras can stand its own well enough and it�s fulcrum is not upon the shoulders of only one striker.

Lance Armstrong advises Tiger Woods to ‘get out there and be seen’

Lance Armstrong has advised his pal Tiger Woods to “get out there and be seen” if he wants to restore his shattered image in the wake of his cheating scandal.

The cycling legend said that Woods – who has not been spotted since his late-night car crash in November – should reconnect with his fans.

He said: “On a personal level, I consider Tiger a friend. We’ve never hung out together, but talked and worked for each other’s foundations. I would encourage him to get out there and be seen.”

Armstrong also agreed that Woods deserved to be named the athlete of the decade in a poll published earlier this week.

He said: “From a sporting perspective, he definitely deserves it.

“What he did for the game of golf is amazing.”

Armstrong, 38, won a record-breaking seven consecutive Tour De France victories from 1999 to 2005.

Glee Cast Performs at World Series

The cast of �Glee� performed the USA National Anthem live during Game 3 of the World Series 2009 at the Citizens Bank Park last weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron and Kevin McHale were all on hand to provide backup vocals to the sensational Amber Riley. Unfortunately for baseball fans, the TV stars� talents as singers didn�t do anything to help the Philadelphia Phillies to pull out a win against the New York Yankees. But then again, that wasn�t part of the job description. Congratulations to the Yankees for being World Series champions!

Kate Hudson denies wedding rumours

Kate Hudson has squashed rumours that she is set to wed baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

The Hollywood actress was reported to have got engaged to the New York Yankees sportsman, who is also known as A-Rod, earlier this year after she was snapped wearing a diamond on the ring finger of her left hand.

But Hudson has denied the reports.

She said: �Did you know that it was this ring, on my right hand?

�I’m like, ‘Why would I even respond… if you’re going to lie about something [so] ridiculous?’�

Hudson, 30, was previously married to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson for seven years.

Jennifer Lopez let loose and celebrated with football fans when for the Miami Dolphins� touchdown against the New York Jets at Land Shark Stadium this past Monday in Miami, Florida. The Dolphins defeated the Jets 31-27. Earlier that evening, the actress/singer�s hubby Marc Anthony sang the National Anthem to kick off the game night. And for those of you that didn�t know, Marc is actually a minority owner of the Dolphins. Does that mean that his appearance was free or just at a discount? Also on hand to help NFL celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month were Gloria and Emilio Estefan who are also minority owners of the team.

Adam Scott torn between two love rumours

Hot Aussie golfer Adam Scott, 29, is linked with two very desirable celebrity women.

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson, 30 and Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic, 21. Of the first, Scott said: “We’re friends. There was nothing in it.”

Scott has been rumoured to be dating the gorgeous Hudson.

He was seen out holding hands with Ivanovic in New York’s Soho district, however. On this relationship he has kept his lips sealed. The photos that surfaced of the tennis ace and the golfer are being taken seriously in Australian gossip circles.

Ivanovic was said to have shot the photographer a dark look, suggesting that she was the one that wanted the status on the couple to officially remain just friends, it was reported.

The pair met while making an ad for Rolex last September at the Australian Open tennis tournament.
