Kristen Wiig’s Bridesmaids is highest-earning female comedy ever

Romantic comedy Bridesmaids has been named the highest-grossing R-rated female comedy in film history. According to US website Gossip Cop, the film has so far earned a total of $152.9million, putting it ahead of the previous title holder Sex and the City. Bridesmaids stars Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, and tells the story of a struggling maid of honour’s attempts to support her best friend before her wedding. Meanwhile, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has become the eighth film ever to pass the $1billion mark worldwide.

Justin Timberlake Sketch with Lady Gaga and Kristen Wiig

Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga harass Kristen Wiig in the Saturday Night Live sketch titled “Liquorville”. The 30-year old singer/actor reprised his famous “Bring it on Down” sketch, where he dressed as a beer bottle with the princess of pop as a wine bottle and the comedienne as a tea bag. The three ended up singing parodies of various songs, including Rihanna’s “Rude Boy”, DJ Khalid’s “All I Do is Win”, J-Kwon’s “Tipsy”, BoB’s “Airplanes” and Lionel Richie and Diana Ross’ “Endless Love”. The sketch was really funny. They should have had Lady Gaga team up with Justin a long time ago.

Justin Timberlake’s SNL Promo

Justin Timberlake is seen rejecting Saturday Night Live cast member Andy Samberg’s advances in a new promo video for his hosting gig on this weekend’s SNL episode. The 30-year old singer/actor will host the comedy show’s season finale. The musical guest will be Lady Gaga. Justin has been focusing on his movie career but he did promise late last year that he will return to music when he’s ready. He addresses this in the promo by singing “Don’t be pissed off I’m an actor – it’s not over. And when I come back, I’m gonna come harder / I’m doing me.”

Ellie Goulding on SNL

Ellie Goulding was the latest musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s latest episode. The British singer performed her songs “Lights”, her debut single in the US, and her cover of Elton John’s song “Your Song” on the NBC show. I really hope her SNL gig leads to bigger and brighter things for Ellie when it comes to breaking into the US music market. Her music has really been struggling to get any recognition even though she’s one of the best artists to come out as of late. My fingers are crossed that she does get her share of the spotlight. And with her album cracking the US iTunes Top 10 and “Lights” going up on the Top 100 singles, there is a lot of hope for her.

SNL stars try to touch Helen Mirrens breasts

Dame Helen Mirren’s breasts were the focus when she appeared on Saturday Night Live. The 65-year-old star’s chest was part of one sketch on the long-running US comedy show, as SNL regulars all tried to get a grope. Comedienne Nasim Pedrad wandered into Mirren’s dressing room coyly asking, “Can I touch them?’ After laying her hands on Mirren she was then transported to the gates of heaven, where Andy Samberg explained: “You are in a place much better than heaven, you are in Helen Mirren’s titties. “Helen Mirren may be 65 but her titties exist beyond space and time — early cave paintings prophesised of this. “So anyway, make yourself at home, Dave Grohl is over there.”

Miley Cyrus gets to host SNL

So maybe smoking that salvia wasn�t such a bad thing after all, it seems to have got Miley Cyrus a bit more attention. And on that note she has apparently become the next one to present Saturday Night Live on the auspicious day of the 5th of March. That most likely means that Miley Cyrus isn�t going to be doing any singing on the show, but maybe she can sneak in a verse or two throughout the show, just for the fans. This is probably going to be a very good bump in her future career in television, although that will probably also mean that it�s bye bye singing career. Well, at least it was fun while it lasted.

The first couple of hosts and musical guests for Saturday Night Live has just been released so you better be ready for a new year of funny. Charles Barkley and Sigourney Weaver will be hosting the first two new episodes of the comedy show with Alicia Keys and The Ting Tings providing hte music on their respective nights. The laughter is set to begin on January 9th. I�m not sure about their choice of hosts but I love who they have for musical guests. I wonder who else will be getting a gig on the show. Bring on the music!

Maya Rudolph is proud new mum to second daughter

Saturday Night Live comedienne Maya Rudolph is a proud new mother.

The star and director Paul Thomas Anderson are thrilled with their second daughter, Lucille, who was born on November 6 in Los Angeles and joins big sister, Pearl, four.

As with their first child, Rudolph and Anderson, 39, chose not to find out the sex of the baby prior to delivery.

“We didn’t find out with Pearl, which was kind of fun,” Rudolph, 37, recently told David Letterman.

“Because when you’re ready to throw in the towel and you’ve got nothing positive to think about or feel, because you’re so heavy and you want to float in a pool of salt water to be buoyant, it was nice to have something to look forward to.”

The couple announced the pregnancy in May.

Mad Mens Elisabeth Moss marries Saturday Night Live comedian

Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss and Saturday Night Live’s Fred Armisen have tied the knot in Long Island City, New York, a rep for the couple has confirmed.

Moss, 27, who plays Peggy Olson in the 1960s-inspired TV hit Mad Men, got engaged to the SNL funnyman in January.

The ceremony took place at The Foundry, in front of friends and family.

Moss earlier revealed that she would be wearing a Claire Pettibone dress for her wedding. “[She] was actually the only and first designer I ever wanted. I just thought [the dresses] were really beautiful.”

Armisen, 42, is best known for his impression of President Barack Obama on the popular NBC show.

The Queen of Pop has acknowledged that there is a new Princess of Pop and she officially passed the torch last week. The one and only Madonna made a rare appearance on Saturday Night Live last weekend to appear in a skit with Lady Gaga. The younger singer also killed the show with a reworked version of her latest hit �Paparazzi� as well as a medley of her songs, including �Love Game�, new single �Bad Romance� and a Manhattan-centric new take on her monster smash �Poker Face�. How cool was it that they got Madonna to be on the show?
