Jay-Z has again been crowned the richest rapper, according to an annual top of Forbes magazine.
37 million dollars, this is how much Jay-Z won the last 12 months. No one can say that Jay-Z is not good at business.
The rapper is a shareholder of New Jersey Nets basketball club, has a contract with Live Nation, has released a clothing collection and, most important, he’s making handsome profit with his on label, Roc Nation. But Jay-Z’s earnings do not stop there. The artist will release on August 12th a new album, ‘Watch the Throne’.
Experts expect the disc to sell over 500 million copies and get on top of the Billboard 200.
# 2 richest rappers this year is by P Diddy, with 35 million dollars. He is followed by Kanye West as 3rd. 4th place is divided between Lil Wayne and Birdman, each with $ 15 million, while Eminem, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg ranked as 6th with 14 million dollars.
In the past five years, Jay-Z was crowned four times as ‘The King of Money in Hip-Hop ‘.

Lady Gaga got the chance to offer her opinion and share some wisdom to the finalists of FOX’s reality TV talent show “So You Think You Can Dance” as the singer was invited as a guest judge on this week’s episode. I think she did a pretty good job! Check out videos of the princess of pop as she comments on the finalists’ routines. Lady Gaga broke into tears at Marko Germar’s choreography but in the end, she took her hat off to Sasha and Melanie’s final routine, saying “Everyone can pack up and go home, because that was the performance of the evening.”

At this concert you better not mess with anyone

Nothing is more annoying when you go to a concert than to come across some annoying troublemaker who complains because you’re singing or even that you have touched or pulled gently at them. That’s the idea of concerts, people singing, dancing and feeling good, and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters is probably the only singer in history to react this way towards one of the fans came to one of his concerts. Dave surprised the guy who was trying to provoke a fight and started to scold him from the stage while the entire audience was applauding. Finally the troublemaker fan was kicked out of the location while everyone applauded.

Lady GaGa probably suffered a little shock this morning when instead of being reminded that she’s the best in the world at everything, she learned with stupor that there is a chapter where she was outdated. Rihanna became officially the female artist with most fans on Facebook and exceeded Lady GaGa with nearly 20,000 fans. GaGa probably choked on her coffee when she read the numbers this morning and discovered that although she was the first star to exceed the 10 million fans on Facebook, Riri exceeded her and reached a record number of 40,564,905 fans while she was left with “only” 40,543,536. Let’s see for how long she will enjoy the glory recently obtained. We believe that the little monsters will ally and will do everything possible to bring the Monster Mother to the first place.

Michael Jackson is getting a motorcycle tribute

Since the second anniversary of the pop legend’s untimely death will occur tomorrow, a tribute has been organized to commemorate this event: a custom-made “Michael Jackson” motorcycle will be driven through the singer’s final resting place. But that’s not all… even the mayor of the town of Gary, Indiana, where Michael Jackson lived with his family until 1969 is planning a commemorative ceremony in honor of the pop legend: “The world can expect a ”Tribute to Michael” every year in June in Gary, Indiana. The world is invited.” It’s probably not such a good idea to invite “the world” to a rather small town to a Michael Jackson event… the world might actually turn up and trample the town into oblivion.

Ne-Yo has a new list of collaborators

The singer has probably got hold of the fame methodology of collaborating with the more famous artists in order to further one’s career, a method popularized by Lil’ Wayne lately, and has admitted that he has a new list for possible collaborations in the future. This is what Ne-Yo had to say on the matter: ”There’s a couple of people who I might be collaborating with on the next album, I don’t know exactly who right now, but I’ve talked to a couple of people, Chris Brown and Dr. Dre, Beyonce about some stuff. But nothing is set in stone right now.” If Ne-Yo already has Beyonce and Dr. Dre in mind, why would he want to go for Chris Brown too? And you’d expect the most logical duet partner for his would be Mariah Carey… or is music not part of the marriage?

When asked by the New York Post as to why she left pop music, singer/actress Mandy Moore said �I wasn’t happy, and I don’t think [the record company] was particularly happy. I wasn’t interested in going into the studio and singing about shoes and boys and, you know, dealing with whatever hot producer-of-the-week they wanted to have me work with. People see me as a sweet person and I’d much rather people say that of me than anything else. But it has its limitations. I’d rather people say, ‘Wow, she’s an actress and musician’ than ‘Oh, she does all those cute movies.’ I need to challenge myself so people will say, ‘Wow, I didn’t expect that. Cool.��

Singer Abbey Lincoln died

Jazz singer Abbey Lincoln, who was also a militant for civil rights, died at the age of 80. She died Saturday at a nursing home in New York, according to her niece Evelyn Mason. Her first album, “Affair … a Story of a Girl in Love” appeared in 1956 and became a huge success. In the same year, Lincoln appeared in her first movie, “The Girl Can�t Help It�. The singer began to militate for civil rights after her marriage, in 1962, with Max Roach, one of the first artists who experimented with bebop rhythm and he was a human rights activists.

Heath Ledger’s NY apartment locked in dispute

Heath Ledger’s apartment in New York is heading into foreclosure amid a dispute by two investors in the building, according to an Australian report.

Ledger was found dead of an overdose of a number of prescription drugs in the Soho apartment in January of 2008.

The tragic actor’s fourth-floor apartment has been empty since his death. The star had paid rent on the three-bedroom apartment at $22,000 per month for five months prior to his death, it was reported.

After he was discovered naked in his bedroom, media and onlookers crowded outside the building. Australian band Eskimo Joe has released a chilling radio hit single about the event, Foreign Land, which occurred while they were on tour in New York.

“New York is a big bad city in some respects,” singer Kav Temperley said recently. “It’s got a coldness and loneliness to it. And this young man dying in a foreign land � we felt the loneliness of the situation.”

The investors in question are millionaire Donald Burns and Brazilian artist Junia Neiva who are locked in a court battle. A rental listing for $26,000 was removed this year, the report says.

Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has flown to Mumbai to see the child stars of the film and announced he is buying them new homes.

Boyle, 53, flew out to see children Rubina Ali, nine, and Azharuddin Ismail, 10, after it was revealed their homes had been destroyed by officials so a railway station could be built.

He revealed that a flat had been bought for Ismail, and Ali would also soon have a new home, too.

The children were pictured crying amid the rubble after their homes were destroyed and Ismail reportedly sobbed: “I wish Danny uncle would come.”

Boyle returned to ensure the children were benefiting from the �500,000 trust that was set up to look after them after they appeared in the Oscar-winning film.

He said: “I have seen their homes being knocked down, and that has upset me a great deal. They have never been far from my thoughts.”

He added: “It is only now that the trust has been able to put in place a workable plan.”

Jonas Bros not feeling teen love on screen

Boy band The Jonas Brothers are not feeling the love of their music fan base, according to a new report.

The teen pop sensation siblings are copping some flack over recent setbacks on their other ventures apart from singing.

The brothers – Joe, Nick and Kevin – are also actors but recently have suffered lower than expected returns on their 3-D movie and a TV ratings dip, according to New York reports.

The movie Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience features the band playing their own instruments, while the TV show is titled JONAS, where the band members ape the Monkees in a Disney Channel kids’ show.

According to the New York Times, eight year old Lucy Schiller, said: �My friends aren�t really talking about [their TV] show … I like them as singers.”

The NY Times also suggested The Jonas Brothers may be ‘fizzling’ as a Walt Disney Company franchise, while New York Magazine added in a separate report that the band may have ‘too much credibility’.

Inspired by true events, we were given the choice to either document the tribulations of these times as they unfold around us, or ignore them. To ignore these problems, in our opinion, is letting down the brave men and women who risk everything. “Hero Of War” is our attempt to lift the stigma that surrounds everything from the skyrocketing suicide rate of troops, torture, internal sexual abuse, an under-funded VA, and the growing number of military personnel fighting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as they return home. Rush and Elton scoop NY awards for stage

Australian Geoffrey Rush, an Oscar-winning actor, took out a prestigious drama award for his work in last year’s Broadway production Exit The King.

Rush, who has built his career on a string of films, won the 54th annual Drama Desk award in New York for the theatrical show that was launched in Sydney and Melbourne in 2007.

Billy Elliot The Musical won 10 prizes, among them an award for Elton John for his outstanding score and to Stephen Daldry for direction.

"It’s been an amazing experience," said John of the smash hit production.

"It’s made an incredible impact on my life."
