Michael Jackson is getting a motorcycle tribute

Since the second anniversary of the pop legend’s untimely death will occur tomorrow, a tribute has been organized to commemorate this event: a custom-made “Michael Jackson” motorcycle will be driven through the singer’s final resting place. But that’s not all… even the mayor of the town of Gary, Indiana, where Michael Jackson lived with his family until 1969 is planning a commemorative ceremony in honor of the pop legend: “The world can expect a ”Tribute to Michael” every year in June in Gary, Indiana. The world is invited.” It’s probably not such a good idea to invite “the world” to a rather small town to a Michael Jackson event… the world might actually turn up and trample the town into oblivion.

Dr. Conrad Murrary Charged in Michael Jackson Death

Dr. Conrad Murray has finally been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the King of Pop Michael Jackson. According to the criminal complaint, the DA alleges that Dr. Murray �did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson … in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.� He has since been arraigned and pled not guilty to the charges. If convicted for the late singer�s death, Dr. Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

A woman has filed a new creditor�s claim in the Michael Jackson estate case and she claims that she had a very special bond with the late singer. Shellie Doreen Smith filed cryptic legal papers laying claim to the King of Pop�s money. The lady says that she was married to Michael back in the 1970s, though she doesn�t exactly remember when. Aren�t you supposed to have papers for that? She does remember that the ceremony, which was at a hotel in New York City, was lovely and that the only witnesses were hotel employees. Shellie staked her claim for spousal support.

Everyone is after Michael Jackson�s money, more so now that he�s dead rather than when the singer was still alive. One of the King of Pop�s former choreographers, LaVelle Smith Jr., recently filed a creditor�s claim against the Jackson estate. Apparently, he has worked for Michael back in 2008 and 2009 and claims that he is owed some money. He filed the lawsuit to collect the unpaid cash which he claims totals $144,500. Does he have proof that he�s owed money? I�m not sure. But regardless, I�m pretty sure that this lawsuit will get dragged out in court for a while considering the long list of creditor�s claims against the estate.

Michael Jackson Portrait Up for Sale

Andy Warhol�s portrait of Michael Jackson is finally going up for sale. A similar portrait of the King of Pop was sold in early August to an anonymous bidder, but Christie�s auction house in New York City will be placing another portrait of the late singer by Warhol up for auction starting on November 10th. The 1984 silk-screened portrait is expected to sell for an impressive $500,000 to $700,000. I know that it�s MJ and I know that it�s Warhol but I don�t think that a portrait is worth that much. Have these people not heard of the recession too?

Mistake in Michael Jackson Will

Michael Jackson�s 2002 will does have a mistake but it looks like a case of no harm, no foul. According to the will, which was dated July 7, 2002, it was signed in Los Angeles. However, Randy Jackson claimed that the late singer was in New York City on that date which made him think that the signature on the King of Pop�s will was a forgery. The lawyer for the estate, Howard Weitzman says that the signature is valid and that he was witness to the signing. It�s now been confirmed that Michael did sign the will on the date in New York and that the reference to Los Angeles was the mistake. Sources say that the Los Angeles reference is actually due to one of the witnesses to the will who simply forgot where he was.

Even though several months have passed since Michael Jackson�s death, the hype continues to rage on� and the profits. It seems the pop legend�s father, Joe Jackson, has introduced screenings of the highly awaited documentary �This is it!� Apparently, Joe Jackson will be making 250 000 dollars from this little business endeavor� he will also be telling stories about Michael Jackson at some of the venues. Perhaps after this last sucking of the marrow from the bone, the star will finally be able to be at peace� but, then again, probably not. Perhaps a new line of fan merchandise or something of the sort will be launched and just wait until the auctions. No, there is still much money to be made, in the end, they�ll probably be calling this economical phenomenon �the Michael Jackson death industry�.

Michael Jackson’s Guitar Goddess Orianthi Readies Debut Album

Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It. Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson’s musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London – a crowning acheivement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.

Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, Believe, on October 27th. In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson’s Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band. Believe is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks. Her first single, “According to You” is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.

Michael Jackson sees genius in Hitler – tapes

In never-before aired tapes, Michael Jackson declares his admiration for Adolf Hitler.

Calling Hitler a genius, Jackson also says he could have got rid of Hitler’s evil, according to his one-time friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach: “Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was.”

The tapes of Jackson and Boteach in conversation will air in an NBC Dateline exclusive on Friday night.

Boteach at one point asks Jackson, “You believe that if you had an hour with Hitler, you could somehow touch something inside of him?”

Jackson, who says he believes therapy can help anyone, responds: “Absolutely. I know I could.”

Boteach was a rabbi at Oxford University for 11 years and taped more than 30 hours of interviews with the star.

Spike Lee throws party to celebrate Michael Jackson’s birthday

Hollywood director Spike Lee celebrated Michael Jackson’s birthday with a big party in Brooklyn.

The late King of Pop would have been 51 on August 29, and rather than mourn his passing Lee decided to stage a huge event.

Thousands of fans headed to the party in Prospect Park and then gathered on Nethermead Meadow.

Before the event, Lee revealed: “It’s going to just be how we do it, Brooklyn style.

“It’s going to be a joyous, festive, celebratory party.”

Dose of propofol not high enough alone to kill – experts

The amount of a short-acting anaesthetic reportedly found in Michael Jackson’s body is not lethal, experts say.

Jackson’s personal doctor Conrad Murray told police he had been giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol nightly for six weeks, according to court documents. But Murray said he was trying to wean Jackson off the anaesthetic in a three-hour interview with police two days after Jackson’s death on June 25.

Murray said he gave the sedatives lorazepam, intravenously, and midazolam to Jackson before finally caving in to the singer’s demands and giving him 25 milligrams of propofol together with the local anaesthetic lidocaine.

Doctors say the dosages of 25, and even 50, milligrams of propofol are far below the therapeutic level needed to put someone to sleep – and keep them there.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” said John Dombrowski, a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. “I cannot believe that was the number that was given. Such a small amount won’t tip anyone over in terms of respiratory depression,” he said.

Dombrowski said the numbers in the documents are somehow in error. Murray might not have provided an infusion rate, such as 25 milligrams every few minutes, or police might not have understood the medical terminology, Dombrowski said.

Scott Engwall, vice-chairman of anesthesiology at UC Irvine School of Medicine, said that for an average person without a high tolerance to drugs, 50 milligrams of propofol might be enough to make them doze off for five or 10 minutes. But one of the features of the short-acting anaesthetic is that patients pop awake after a time interval.

Train authority rejects bid to name station after Michael Jackson

The New York train authority rejected a proposal to rename a downtown Brooklyn subway station after the late Michael Jackson.

Jackson filmed the video for Bad at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station in 1987. He died suddenly at the age of 50 on June 25.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) rejected a proposal to name or co-name the station in honour of Jackson, said city councilwoman Letitia James. But James plans to launch a wider campaign, including a petition drive.

“Having Michael Jackson visit and moonwalk at this station was a huge deal not only for Brooklyn, but all of New York in the 1980s. And renaming this station in his honour would put it on the map and help ensure that people don’t forget,” she said.

The MTA said none of the subway stations are named or co-named after individuals to avoid confusion.

Spike Lee plans Michael Jackson birthday party

Director Spike Lee is planning a massive birthday party for Michael Jackson.

The Do The Right Thing filmmaker is throwing the bash in Brooklyn, New York, on August 29 – what would have been the singer’s 51st birthday. It is also the day the King of Pop will finally be laid to rest.

“It’s going to just be how we do it, Brooklyn-style, I’ll leave it at that,” Lee told a US newspaper. “It’s going to be a joyous, festive, celebratory party.”

The free party will be held between noon and 5pm at Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park. It will feature DJs and a Happy Birthday sing-a-long for the Thriller star.

Lee, 52, added: “At the end, we’ll all sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Michael. We’re going to make sure he hears us, too. All over the world, people are going to be celebrating his birthday. But he’s going to hear Brooklyn; Brooklyn is going to be in the house.”

John Mayer for Michael Jackson

John Mayer has recently been tapped to help remake Michael Jackson�s song �Will You Be There�. There will be a couple more artists involved in the project including Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Usher, Dionne Warwick, Wyclef Jean, Jermaine Jackson, Larry King�s wife Shawn and possibly Jennifer Hudson. It is being reported that proceeds from the sales of the song will be split 50/50 between The Larry King Cardiac Foundation and an unspecified charity close to the late King of Pop. I wonder if this one�s true. There have been reports about a tribute concert involving the same set of artists that was recently debunked.
