Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he loves celebrity spotting in New York. The 21-year-old Harry Potter star is currently living in the city while he stars on Broadway, and said that while people don’t seem to recognise him, he enjoys recognising all the other A-Listers. “It’s very rare that I get stopped or get asked for an autograph or anything – none of which I mind – but people don’t really care that much. I just sort of walk by, and they say, ‘Oh, hi,’ and then walk on. It’s pretty cool, to be honest,” he told Time Out New York. “I saw Julianne Moore walk past me a couple of weeks ago, and we sort of smiled at each other. I don’t think she knew it was me. I just think she thought it was somebody smiling at her. “You do see a lot of people, and I’m as guilty of it as anybody. I get so excited when I spot people, like, ‘Oh, there’s Kiefer Sutherland!’” And the actor said that he has been grateful for the chance to play a hero, although he suspects that he won’t be cast as one again. “It’s very rare in your career that you get to play an action hero. I’m not the natural frame and stature of an action hero, so I may not get to play one again,” he said. “I will miss playing Harry, but I’ve played him for ten years. That’s more time than any actor gets with a character normally.”

Daniel Radcliffe has dedicated his Trevor Project Hero Award to ‘the real heroes’ behind the charity. The 21-year-old Harry Potter star took time out from Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying to attend the Trevor Live gala in New York on Monday night. The event honours those who inspire lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths. "The fact that I’m able to help with something like this makes me very, very proud," Radcliffe told MTV News. "It’s a huge honour, and it’s lovely of them to give it to me. I’ll say it again later, but the real heroes are the people who are staffing those call centres and picking up the phones saving lives every single day." Trevor is a non-profit organization that offers support to sexual minority youth, with a 24-hour suicide prevention hotline to help those struggling to come to terms with their sexuality. Radcliffe has been involved with the charity since 2009, and has appeared in several public service announcements for the cause. "It’s incredibly important because all over the country there are many young people who are going through difficult times coming out or accepting who they are, or coming to terms with who they are," Radcliffe said. "And it’s wonderful that compassionate, brave people work at the Trevor Project and are ready to take calls 24 hours a day to help those people."

Adele’s monster of a second album “21” is back at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a tenth non-consecutive week. In the runner up spot is the princess of pop herself, Lady Gaga with “Born This Way”. In the third spot is the soundtrack to the Broadway hit musical “The Book of Mormon” which sold 61,000 copies. That makes it the highest charting Broadway cast album, and first top ten, since the “Hair” soundtrack spent 13 weeks at number one in 1969. I’m happy that the musical is doing so well, even more so it’s music. Congratulations to everyone!

The Social Network actor Jesse Eisenberg is set to make his Off-Broadway debut with his new play Asuncion this autumn. The Oscar-nominated star, who also wrote the script for the production, will appear in the play which is scheduled to debut at New York’s Cherry Lane Theatre in October. The Hollywood Reporter says the show is about two students whose ideals are challenged when a Filipina woman becomes their new room mate. The production will be the 27-year-old’s debut as a playwright, although he did appear on the New York stage in an Off-Broadway production of Lucy Thurber’s Scarcity back in 2007.

For the first time in the history of “Glee”, a cast member will be performing one of their own songs on the hit TV show. Matthew Morrison, whose debut self-titled album came out this week, is singing “Still Got Tonight” on the show’s New York-themed season 2 finale. The decision to let the actor/singer perform didn’t come easily as creator Ryan Murphy said that it was a process in the creative and logistic sense but that everyone involved ultimately thought it was a good idea to give Matt his moment. Ryan explained “It worked because we wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone. Plus, Matt is such a great team player and he’s done so much for different Glee charities…We worked really hard to make it feel organic to the show.” I’m happy that he gets to do his music, especially if it makes sense within the show’s context.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is considering a stint on Broadway when she ends The Oprah Winfrey Show’s 25-year run at the end of the month. The star has always wanted to perform on stage in New York but has been too busy with her show. But when her programme comes to an end on May 25, she can finally fulfill her Broadway ambitions. The 57-year-old told The Chicago Tribune: "I have a stack of plays in my bag right now that I am reading. "And just this past weekend, I was in New York meeting with producers. We were just talking about what would be the best route to take. But yes, this is really going to happen. Life is too short."

Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he found dance training for his role on Broadway so strenuous that he had to take a nap on the toilet. The 21-year-old Harry Potter star plays J Pierrepont Finch in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, and said that perfecting his dance moves for the musical was harder than he ever imagined. He told MTV, "With the dance, particularly, there were some days when I was just so tired halfway through. "There was one time when I was in my dance class and we were like two-and-a-quarter hours in and I just have 45 minutes left, and I was like, ‘How am I going to get through the last 45 minutes of this lesson?’. "And I actually went to the toilet, sat down on the toilet with the lid down, [set] my phone alarm for five minutes and just went to sleep for like five minutes, and I just woke up thinking, ‘Jesus, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to hack it if I can’t even get through a lesson’."

Universal Pictures is reportedly looking into making the Green Day Broadway musical “American Idiot” into a full blown musical feature film. While nothing is set in stone yet, sources are saying that Dustin Lance Black is being courted to write the script, Michael Mayer to direct and the rock band’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong to play the role of drug dealer St. Jimmy – a role he took on several times during the show’s run on Broadway. I think it’s a great idea. If it does happen, I do hope Billie gets on because Broadway numbers show that more people came to see him compared to shows when he wasn’t on.

At the age of 57 supermodel Christie Brinkley has landed a role as Roxy in the new Broadway version of Chicago. Brinkley, who has been on the cover of over 500 magazines and used to be married to Billy Joel appeared on US TV programme Good Morning America to show off a few of her moves. Presenter Elizabeth Vargas, 48, said: “You are 57, you look amazing, what are you doing?” To which Christie replied: “Well the dancing has definitely done something to improve my body.” The National Lampoon’s Vacation actress also revealed that her ex-husband Uptown Girl singer Billy Joel, 61, gave her singing tips before the show. “He helped me with my projection,” she said. The UN worker also downplayed the difficulties of bringing up a child when both parents are mega-celebrities: “It’s no harder than it is for anyone else,” she said. “The only difference is that your dinners are peppered with people coming up and saying nice things.” Brinkley and Joel’s daughter, Alexa Ray, 25, is following in her mother’s footsteps by becoming a singer and model.

If you dont know who he is, Jason is currently a Broadway actor but some of you might remember him from the 1987 film Lost Boys. As for what he said about the pop singer, Jason said This Lady GaGa is absolutely preposterous. This is, what? You take a s*** in a Cuisinart and put [on] some pasties and get Auto-Tuned and look who I am. Well nothing, you’ve been marketed, that’s all. If I was a magician maybe I’d get angry about it, but it’s just like, what? Again, just turn the page. To each their own.

Julie Taymor has stepped down as the director of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark after the official opening of the musical was delayed for a sixth time. Taymor will be replaced by a new creative team to oversee rewrites on the musical, which was set to open on March 15. Producers said Taymor’s previous commitments past that date meant she could not work all the hours necessary but she will stay as part of the production team. The opening of the Broadway show has been delayed until the early summer. The production features music composed by U2 star Bono and The Edge.

Sienna Miller has admitted that she enjoyed playing a ‘vile woman’ on Broadway. The 29-year-old actress starred alongside Jonny Lee Miller in After Miss Julie, and said that it was great to be hated by the audiences. She told Stylist, “In New York, the audiences were very vocal, which was quite difficult because my character in that play was quite poisonous as a person. “Every night they’d be like, ‘oh she’s disgusting! What a vile woman’, and it’s hard not to take that personally. “At first I was really trying to go for the sympathy vote, but by the end of it I sort of loved being detestable. I was ashen on the floor, spitting on Jonny. In the end I found it really liberating.”

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has confessed to sources that he is eager to get to work on a new Broadway musical, following the success of his first show American Idiot. The rock star explained that hes really interested in writing songs specifically for a show and feels that his talent is best suited for this kind of work. Billie Joe said The kind of music that I like is very immediate and very catchy, and you identify with it quickly, and I try to write that way. And in musical theatre it’s the same thing – you identify with the songs immediately. The good ones anyway.
