50 Cent has signed a deal with Razorbill publisher Ben Schrank to write and release a book called “Playground”, which will be a fictional retelling based on his childhood and will address the topic of teen bullying. The story, set to be released next January and will be edited by Laura Arnold, will reportedly focus on a 13-year old schoolyard bully “who finds redemption as he faces what he’s done.” The rapper said in a statement “I had a strong desire to write ‘Playground’ because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully. I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers.” It sounds interesting and I think it’s a great perspective to take. I think it’s important to know what drives people to become bullies and not just about the victims of bullying.

Adele’s monster of a second album “21” is back at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a tenth non-consecutive week. In the runner up spot is the princess of pop herself, Lady Gaga with “Born This Way”. In the third spot is the soundtrack to the Broadway hit musical “The Book of Mormon” which sold 61,000 copies. That makes it the highest charting Broadway cast album, and first top ten, since the “Hair” soundtrack spent 13 weeks at number one in 1969. I’m happy that the musical is doing so well, even more so it’s music. Congratulations to everyone!

Kate Hudson’s father has landed a deal for a tell-all book about his ex-wife Goldie Hawn, according to reports. Bill Hudson is set to release the exposé So You Are A Star: Coming To Terms With Fame, Infatuation And Family this autumn. The 61-year-old former musician’s agent Diane Nine released a picture of Hudson posing with his famous daughter and her brother Oliver from his private collection of family snaps, with the teaser: “What if your ex-wife used her public platform to spread rumours about your relationship with your children?” In the book, Hudson, who married Hawn in 1976, claims he was denied access to his two children by the Private Benjamin star, and also alleges that she turned them against him. In one extract from the book, Hudson says of his ex-wife: "Goldie was on the comeback road and didn’t want to fail. Her priorities shifted when she started filming Foul Play with Chevy Chase, and our kids were sort of left as No. 2 priority [sic]. I couldn’t believe I was seeing that.” The couple split after four years of marriage in 1980 – when their actress daughter was just 18 months old – and Hudson later married actress Cindy Williams. The book, which is due to be released by California-based Dailey Swan Publishing, is said to recount Hudson’s “struggle to rebuild a relationship with his children”.

Cream will always rise to the top. But the days of starmaking are over. Kids today only want one song, not the album, and they don’t know who the artist is.” Mottola will detail Carey’s rise to fame from a “confusing upbringing” and how he signed Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez.

The already popular books are based around medical examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta and a film adaptation is currently being made with Jolie taking on the lead role.

Jennifer Berlin, a press officer at Waterstones, believes the flick will bring added attention to the novels.

She told Splash News: “A new Patricia Cornwell book is always an event and a sure bet to hit number one. It’s about time Hollywood recognised one of the most iconic characters in crime fiction.”

Comic Jerry Seinfeld’s wife is in the clear over allegations she stole an idea for her cookbook.

Missy Chase Lapine sued the star’s wife Jessica Seinfeld over her book Deceptively Delicious – aimed at getting children to eat healthily.

But Manhattan Federal judge Laura Taylor Swain booted out the lawsuit, ruling that tricking youngsters into eating healthy food was not an exclusive idea.

Lapin claimed that Seinfeld had stolen recipes from her book The Sneaky Chef such as putting spinach in chocolate chip cookies.

After Lapine launched her legal action, Jerry Seinfeld appeared on David Letterman’s Late Show and branded Lapin a “wacko”.

If you read history, many of the three-named people do become assassins, Seinfeld joked.

The judge refused to rule on a defamation claim by Lapine saying it was a state not federal matter.

It’s a complete vindication of what we’ve been saying from Day One, that this lawsuit was an optimistic attempt to generate publicity, said Jessica Seinfeld’s lawyer Orin Snyder.

Lapine’s lawyer, Howard Miller, says she may appeal the copyright ruling, and would definitely pursue her defamation claim.

It turns out that David Foster is releasing an autobiography soon. If you dont know who he is, hes just the music producer whos worked with Celine Dion, Josh Groban and everybody else. In his new book, the music man will be writing about his life, his sister Jaymes, as well as her baby and her relationship with Clay Aiken. In a recent interview, David said that his sister is very close with Clay, they’re best friends. It made perfect sense to me that he’d want to have a child with his best friend. He adds that Jaymes had always wanted a child, so it kind of worked out. David also said that Clay is a spectacular father.

The famous soon to be week-end rapper will write a book about his latest tour. Charles Miers, New York publishing executive had this to say about the singers endeavor: “Kanye West has turned his talents as pop artist to books. With a CD that includes Star Wars-like symphonic from the show as well as an interview with Spike Jonze, it is not only a memento of one of the most successful musical performances of the year, it is an experience all of its own.” What decent pop artist wouldnt write a book? What decent pop artist doesnt enrich human culture with his revolutionary views upon life and a free CD to go with it? And all of this for a small, nominal fee

Which sort of confirms the rumor, doesn?t it?
During the National Book Awards this past week, a New York Magazine reporter bumped into Anna Wintour did his job pretty well. The reporter cornered Ms. Wintour and asked her about the retirement rumors milling about.
The only problem is that when she was confronted, she basically freaked and gave the reporter a piece of her mind!!!
NY Mag: There have been some rumors, and we were wondering if you had plans for retirement.
Anna Wintour: I’m so sorry, I think that’s an extremely rude question. Leave me alone.
NY Mag: May we ask what you would do if you did retire?
Anna Wintour: No. Just go away.
NY Mag: Okay, thank you, enjoy your dinner.
Easy there, defensive!
The report points out that the devil did not deny the rumors.
When’s the retirement statement coming out?????

Madonna has been looking like a ghost lately which may be where claims came from that she ghost-wrote part of her backstabbing brother? s tell-all book. The New York Post reports that the Queen of Pop was allegedly in cahoots with her brother, Christopher Ciccone, who wrote the book about his sister?s crazy life and that Madonna went as far as writing parts of it. People have been pretty open in talking about how she?s helped Christopher in all areas of his career. This could be one of those times. There?s no such thing as bad press for Madonna anyway.

?Jersey Boys? is the musical autobiography of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It?s a gigantic Broadway hit and now, the widow of a man who also wrote the band?s story wants a piece of the million-dollar earnings per week pie of the show.

Donna Corbello, the widow of Rex Conrad Woodard, is suing the ex-lead guitarist and founding member of the band, Tommy DeVito, because she claims that her late husband?s book on DeVito?s life was the basis of ?Jersey Boys? but that she?s been cut out of the profits. She is seeking a declarations that her late husband is the ?joint owner? of that as-yet unpublished book so that she?ll get some windfall from any future profits from ?Jersey Boys?.

Madonna has topped a new list of bad girls gone good, beating off Drew Barrymore and Mary J. Blige. Editors at In Touch magazine have crowned the Material Girl as the ultimate reformed woman in their upcoming issue. Madonna is a devoted mom these days, but back in the ’80s and ’90s, she was every mother’s worst nightmare! Whether expressing herself in racy videos or posing nude for her Sex book, she was determined to shock. Who said you can’t turn a ho into a housewife? Now when she would look back at her raunchy videos and pictures she would have a feeling that she is more mature today and a thinking person. We she was young some 15 odd years ago she was real path breaking artist and a maverick music by every meaning of the word, she set the stage on fire where ever she performed and people would be in awe of her performances that defied all conventional ways of music videos, actually is was and is a trend setter a born performer.

Former Korn star Brian `Head’ Welch’s new autobiography, Save Me From Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, And Lived To Tell My Story, has topped the New York Times bestsellers list after its first week of publication.
Thats what we need, a little more korn in the news, make us all laugh! He he ha ha ho ho who cares if he survived korn, korn sucked. Made his millions in korn lived his drugged out fantasies, now he’s found god, written a book, gonna tell us all about it. And of course pad his bank account. No Thanks Mr. Korn. Well with so many celebs admitting to having taken drugs in the past, why can?t the cops interrogate these chaps and find some insider info on the drug mafia that?s supplying them the cocaine and heroin. There these hundreds of pop stars and celebs that feed themselves with drugs everyday and yet they rule the roost in the music world, what sheer crap this all is.

The story Aida is about a Nubian princess that is captured by an Egyptian captain. It?s a Broadway production that is being brought to the big screen. The ?Dreamgirls? actress, Beyonce Knowles is reportedly in discussion with Walt Disney Studios to play the lead role in the Giuseppe Verdi opera. The role has been played previously by Toni Braxton and Beyonce?s own fellow Destiny?s Child member Michelle Williams. I don?t take a personal interest in anything Beyonce does and I doubt that this will be any different. I?m sure the production will be great and the story beautiful but I won?t be able to sit through two hours of Beyonce. The piece is said to be an opera but I don?t see her being capable of doing any opera. Maybe they will just change everything to make it easier to film like they do with books and so many other pieces of work. If that?s the case it will hardly be worth watching.
