Midler, 50 cent to team up again on NY garden charity

Young and old, Jewish and hip hop, Bette Midler and rapper 50 cent have become a dream team on New York’s green scene.

The pair originally clicked over the city gardening restoration that has long been a passion of Midler’s, eonline.com reports.

The rapper worked on Midler’s public garden project in his hometown of Jamaica, Queens.

But Midler and 50 cent will be getting more serious with an appearance on May 19 at the Restoration Project’s annual spring picnic in Fort Tyron Park.

Dolly Parton and Tim Gunn are also expected to participate, the website reports.

"Fiddy" did not hesitate to respond to Midler. She said: "He never asked how much …. He just said, Where do I sign?"

50 Cent and Bette Midler are seriously considering doing a duet. That�s got to be the craziest collaboration to ever happen. The rapper was recently quoted in saying �Me and Bette collaborating would be really hot. But I’d need to make something new for her. For the right song, we’d definitely get together.� Bette added �He is one of the newest members of our tribe. He has really made my life worth living. 50 has been with me through thick and thin. I really can’t rap, but I’d like to sing in the background on ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’.� Impossible really is nothing.

Sources are saying that Bette Midler?s Las Vegas show has turned into one very big disappointment. An insider says that ?She can?t move tickets.? Unlike Bette, Cher?s performances, which are also staged at Caesar?s Coliseum, are almost always sold out. A source said ?Between December 30th and January 4th, Midler performed 5 shows and only sold out one. That’s embarrassing! All those shows should have been sold out. It was the holidays!? Poor Bette. The economy is to blame! Maybe it?s time to slash the prices off of those tickets. People can?t really buy Cher tickets and then go off and buy Bette tickets too, you know?

Either Bette Midler got loaded up on all sorts of street cred of 50 Cent completely lost all of his. I?m kidding. Actually, the actress and the rapper hooked up for a good cause. 50 just forked over a ton of cash to build a garden in his hometown of Queens, New York after Bette talked him into getting involved with her charity, the New York Restoration Project. Now that?s gangsta. Who knew 50 Cent was into gardening? Moreover, who knew these two actually knew each other? I wonder who gained more fans with this partnership. It?s all good though.
