Alicia Keys Gives Birth

Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz are now the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy. The R&B singer and the music producer welcomed their son Egypt Daoud Dean in New York City last Thursday. This is the first child for the 29-year old Alicia and the fourth child for 32-year old Swizz who has three other children from a previous marriage. Congratulations on the new arrival! I hope both mom and baby are healthy. I imagine that the holidays will be extra happy for them this year. I wonder when we�ll be able to get a look see at the new baby.

SNL Reveals Line Up

The first couple of hosts and musical guests for Saturday Night Live has just been released so you better be ready for a new year of funny. Charles Barkley and Sigourney Weaver will be hosting the first two new episodes of the comedy show with Alicia Keys and The Ting Tings providing hte music on their respective nights. The laughter is set to begin on January 9th. I�m not sure about their choice of hosts but I love who they have for musical guests. I wonder who else will be getting a gig on the show. Bring on the music!

Jay-Z and New York City had a lot to be proud of last week. The rapper and his song �Empire State of Mind� have hit it big as the song is at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Remarkably, this is the first time that this has ever happened in the mogul�s music career. He was only able to come close with his hit �Run This Town� which reached number 2 on the charts. Congratulations are definitely due out to Jay-Z. I�m sure his collaborator Alicia Keys is also happy. I�m also pretty sure that his wife Beyonce is mighty proud.

Alicia Keys hosted the premiere of ?We Are Together? at the Director?s Guild of America in New York City last week. The film is a documentary which chronicles the lives of Agape orphans in South Africa. The 28-year old singer said at the premiere ?I?ve always loved kids. Kids are so important. It?s important to nurture and spend time with them and listen to them. I?m not ready to be a mom. But [adoption] is something that is important to consider. That?s what I really admire about Angelina [Jolie]. I think it?s beautiful the way she embraces children of the world.?
