Gordon Ramsay diners get stung in the pocket after sexual harassment scandal
When the closed Gordon Ramsay restaurant at The London NYC Hotel opens next week the customers will be picking up the bill, say reports. An internal memo obtained by the media shows that the posh eatery will raise its prices by over 22 per cent to make up for the cost of being closed since last Saturday amid sexual harassment claims. Male chefs staged a strike after a female colleague launched sexual harassment charges against them. On Wednesday commis or apprentice chef Janet Kim lodged a formal complaint with the State Division of Human Rights, naming both the hotel and Gordon Ramsay, that says she was sexually harassed in the kitchen. Ramsay’s spokesperson denied all responsibility: "Neither Gordon Ramsay or his company GRH have any involvement with or responsibility for the operation of the restaurant, including anything to do with Human Resources which is entirely the responsibility of the owners," they said.
