Rachel Zoe calls John Gallianos video scandal super-sad
Stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe has revealed that she was disappointed by designer John Galliano’s alleged anti-Semitic rant because the pair have been friends “for years”. Zoe, who says she has dropped clients for being anti-Semitic, tells The Hollywood Reporter that she has known the British designer “for years” and doesn’t “know enough” about the recent controversy to make a clear comment. “It’s a little insane and super-sad,” the 39-year-old fashionista told the US magazine when asked about Galliano, who was caught on film in a Paris restaurant apparently drunk and allegedly making racist comments to fellow diners. Talking about the incident, Zoe, real name Rachel Zoe Rosenzweig, said: “Anti-Semitism, racism or any prejudice is not something I tolerate. I’ve fired clients because they were anti-Semitic, or anti-everything, except what they were I’ve known John Galliano and his boyfriend for years.” The Rachel Zoe Project star added: “I don’t know enough about it to make a clear statement, but if it’s true, it’s tragic.” Fashion house Christian Dior recently fired Galliano after incriminating video footage showing him intoxicated and allegedly saying “I love Hitler” was posted on the internet.
