Twilight star Kristen Stewart has passed up the chance to become the latest Lois Lane. Stewart met with director Zack Snyder but eventually withdrew herself from consideration, the New York Daily News reports. Insiders say that Snyder did not officially offer Stewart the role of the Daily Planet reporter who becomes Superman’s love interest but had ‘definite’ interest in her. The Daily News claims that Stewart was not interested in repeating the massive success of the Twilight franchise, which catapulted her to stardom. Stewart is reportedly more interested in ‘smaller, independent films’ than jumping into another high-profile franchise. Snyder is also considering the likes of Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams and Mila Kunis for the role. British actor Henry Cavill has already been cast as Superman in the reboot of the franchise.
