The actress who plays Robert De Niro’s daughter in Little Fockers says the Goodfellas star made her cry during filming. Teri Polo, 41, plays Pam Focker in all three of the comedy films starring De Niro and Ben Stiller. But, while filming the latest instalment, she says the 67-year-old was short with her. Polo tells USA Today that De Niro snapped at her after she made a noise while they were rehearsing. But when they were shooting the scene an hour later Polo says the actor apologised, which made her cry. “He put his face in my face and his hand on my shoulder and said: ‘I’m terribly sorry I was short with you’,” she says. “I burst into tears.” Polo has praised the actor who plays her over-protective father Jack Byrnes in Meet the Parents and the two sequels Meet the Fockers and the soon-to-be released Little Fockers – saying he was a joy to work with. “The surprising thing about Bob is he is a very shy man, not talkative, not an overt personality. “But there is an incredible warmth about him. “He has a true paternal instinct.”
