Oprah Winfrey eyes up $68million USD estate
Oprah Winfrey is eyeing up an $68million USD mega-mansion – one of the costliest homes in the United States. The billionaire talk show queen is said to have visited the sprawling estate in Alpine, New Jersey, on Wednesday. The 30,300 square foot, five-storey English-manor style property boasts 19 bathrooms and 12 bedrooms. Sources say workers at the home were told to leave as she toured it. “Her people requested that everyone leave the house so it would be empty when she walked through,” an insider told a US newspaper. The home, called the Stone Mansion, has a ballroom, an indoor basketball court, a cinema, a 65-foot swimming pool with cabana and garage space for 11 cars. It also has a smart security system that can be controlled from anywhere in the world from an iPhone. There is also a mahogany-panelled elevator, a wine cellar, a carriage house, a fitness room, and tennis courts. Alpine – about 20 miles north of New York City – has been named by Forbes magazine as the most expensive postcode in America. Residents include Eddie Murphy, P. Diddy, Jay-Z and Beyonce, and the Jonas Brothers.
