Oksana Grigorieva has not attempted to extort Mel Gibson, her rep says.

Stephen Jaffe told TMZ: “To specifically address the allegations, my client, Ms Grigorieva, has repeatedly stated that there is no credible evidence whatsoever of extortion by her, and she stands steadfastly by that statement.”

It was reported that the LA. County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the extortion claim after Gibson’s lawyer Blair Berk presented her evidence to investigators in court.

TMZ reports sheriffs are investigating Berk’s allegation that Grigorieva lied to authorities when she filed her complaint against the Edge of Darkness star.

The extortion denial comes on the same day Radar Online published a controversial new photo of Gibson’s and Grigorieva’s daughter Lucia that allegedly shows an abrasion on the child’s chin.

Radar reported that the alleged graze was caused after a fight between her parents on January 6 – when Lucia was two months old.

In audio recordings previously posted on Radar, Grigorieva is heard telling Gibson: “You’re acting as a crazy man right now and you have been for many, many months … you hit me and you hit her while she was in my hands …”
