A woman who claims she had an “intimate relationship” with disgraced Mel Gibson has alleged the Hollywood star was “abusive” towards her.

Polish fitness instructor and porn star Violet Kowal told Fox News Channel’s Geraldo Rivera that Gibson would call her late at night “screaming” that he would make her “suffer”.

Kowal told Rivera that she first met the Mad Max star in May 2007, but reconnected with him in July 2009 following his divorce from wife Robyn Gibson.

“When I first met him… he announced, ‘Oh you probably hear I am divorced’,” Kowal told Rivera last night.

“And, after that, he never ever spoke about Oksana [Grigorieva], so I thought they are not together.

“So, when he was calling me and when we were seeing each other, I thought we were just friends and we had an intimate relationship.”

Kowal then detailed the alleged abuse she claims Gibson subjected her to.

She said: “He [Gibson] was very abusive. He called me up screaming at me and said he would make me suffer.

“I was so scared of him. It was a huge emotional experience for me. I was close to going to the police.”

Kowal says she was unaware of Gibson’s relationship with Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva, with whom he had a baby girl last October.

“He never talked about Oksana or the baby. It was like they weren’t in his life,” she added.
