Michael Douglas’s ex-wife wants Wall Street money
Michael Douglas’s ex-wife Diandra Douglas has filed a suit against the actor, alleging she is entitled to half of his paycheque for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, according to reports.
The former couple divorced in 2000, with Diandra Douglas reportedly getting a $45milllion (£30million) settlement. Her lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, alleges that under the original agreement Diandra Douglas is entitled to earnings from any “spin-offs”, the New York Post reports.
“It’s the same character, the same title, just years later,” Chemtob reportedly said appearing before Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper.
However the Oscar-winner is said to be fighting the suit, with his lawyer Marilyn Chinitz, telling the court: “He doesn’t want her to be an albatross around his neck forever.”
Oliver Stone’s Wall Street sequel, which is set to be released later this year, co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan, and sees the 65-year-old reprise his role as Gordon Gekko from the 1987 movie.
