The Manhattan apartment owned by late Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan is on sale for $2.25 million.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property – described as a “huge oasis” – boasts its own library, a 1,600 sq ft private garden, and even a hidden passageway.

The New York Times reports: “In the pantry of the co-op… a door disguised as a spice rack leads to a bathroom behind the kitchen – a secret passageway!”

A listing for real estate agent Brown Harris Stevens describes the apartment as “one of the most unique homes available in Manhattan”.

It continues: “Overlooking private tennis courts, this huge oasis is professionally landscaped and designed, and functions as a country getaway.”

McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux on the hit TV show, died of a massive stroke earlier this month at the age of 76.

Gail Kennedy, McClanahan’s live-in housekeeper, told the New York Times: “She said to me, ‘I want this to feel like this is home’.”

A door to her office is also sculpted to look like a nude woman is walking through it.

The home, in posh Sutton Place, has more than a dozen closets and floor-to-ceiling windows.
