Seinfeld has raked in $2.7billion since the hit series ended in 1998, making it the most profitable half-hour in TV history.

The show about nothing ran for nine seasons, spanning 180 episodes and starred Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus .

Syndication rights and DVD sales were reportedly responsible for the show’s earnings.

Co-creators Seinfeld and Larry David are said to have made hundreds of millions of dollars from re-runs, the New York Post has reported.
