Natasha Richardson remembered at gala in New York

Late actress Natasha Richardson has been remembered by friends and family at a gala in New York.

Natasha died in March last year after suffering a brain injury following a fall while skiiing in Canada.

Natasha’s mother, actress Vanessa Redgrave, and her sister, Joely Richardson, were among guests at amfAR’s annual gala.

Actor Alan Cumming, who appeared with Natasha in the Broadway production of Cabaret, said: “I remember her laugh. She was really kind to me.”

Natasha’s mother Vanessa also paid tribute and said: “My darling Natasha, I’m so proud of your courage, your hard work, your total commitment and your beautiful, life-giving spirit. Thank you.”

Lady Gaga and actress Meryl Streep both sung at the event.
