Meg Ryan escapes critics of flop in waters of Hawaii
Meg Ryan took to the soothing waters of Hawaii in the wake of the panning of her latest movie, Serious Moonlight.
The US actress was spotted wading out to chest level in Hawaii in what one newspaper claimed was an attempt to forget the reviews.
The latest movie sees the star of such ’90s hits as You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle playing a businesswoman who resorts to tying up her husband after she learns he plans to run off with his receptionist.
The New York Times canned it as “a very shallow comedy”. Entertainment Weekly wrote: “Ryan nearly breaks a sweat working so hard to charm. There’s a lot of yelling, cracking wise and cooing in this creepy rom-com.”
But perhaps Ryan, an all-American girl-type, is best known for the smash hit When Harry Met Sally in 1989. She was married to Dennis Quaid and they have a son, Jack, 17.
