Michael Lohan arrested for violating restraining order
Lindsay Lohan’s estranged dad has been arrested for violating a restraining order.
The 49-year-old was arrested on Monday after his ex-fiancée Erin Muller contacted police to tell them he had been trying to talk to her on the phone – in violation of an order restricting him from making contact.
He was arrested in Medford, New York.
A police spokesman said: “Michael Lohan, 49, of Southampton, was arrested today for violating an order of protection and charged with criminal contempt second degree, a misdemeanour.”
Lohan – who has publicly battled with his actress daughter and released several taped conversations – denied the arrest ever took place.
“I was not arrested,” he said. “Erin and I had an argument. She has an ongoing order of protection against me. She called and said I violated it by making a phone call to her. I went down there today and saw the judge and I handled it and that was it.”
