American designer Tommy Hilfiger has sold a Connecticut Gold Coast mansion for $20 million.
The selling price for the 1860 sq m Greenwich manse with its eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms was $8 million less than what was asked.
Sotheby’s International Realty said a family that toured the house in September have made the purchase. It is located in a Martha Stewart-favoured bastion of Connecticut society.
The property, which Hilfiger bought in 2005 for $18 million, also boasts a 2000-bottle wine cellar and indoor basketball court, sauna, massage room, a waterfall and a home theatre.
The designer has moved to New York City.
