Steven Tyler joins Joe Perry on NY stage
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler appeared on stage with guitarist Joe Perry in New York to show the world the band was unified – not splitting.
“New York, I want you to know I’m not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler told fans in the surprise appearance at a solo concert by Perry.
The pair has had a 40-year musical collaboration. Tyler, 61 – before the most recent reports of their feuding that included Twitter barbs and had Tyler taking a final hike – was hit by bouts of illness which stalled the band’s North America tour. Tyler collapsed on stage in August in South Dakota.
But in New York, they performed the song Walk This Way. Tyler told TMZ: “There is absolutely no validity to the rumour that Aerosmith is breaking up.”
Perry said of Tyler’s joining the New York concert: “He just couldn’t stay away.”
