Jude Law appears to have his hands full in New York with three children, a Broadway production of Hamlet and an infant daughter he has yet to meet.
Law is said to feel he is on a tightrope between his responsibilities to three kids with ex-wife Sadie Frost and to baby Sophia, the product of a night of passion with Florida model Samantha Burke.
A family friend said Law plans to visit Sophia. “He felt it would be easiest to just pay Samantha and hope that she moved on and left him alone. But now he is feeling very torn. He is on the brink of going to see Sophia but, first of all, he wants to make sure his older kids feel totally secure and to make them feel they are involved in what is one of the biggest decisions of his life.”
The actor has pledged financial support to Burke, who recently sold photos of Sophia to a magazine, donating some of the profit to a children’s charity, she said.
The family friend said: “Samantha wants him to be involved with their daughter’s life and be an active father. And Jude’s own parents want to know their new granddaughter.”
Law has rented a luxury apartment in Manhattan while playing Hamlet. His parents, Maggie and Peter, helped him care for the kids, who were visiting. His children with Frost are Rafferty, 13, Iris, 9, and Rudy, 7.
