Ed Norton says running the New York marathon gave him

Ed Norton tweets about how running the New York marathon gave him “chills”.
Almost as soon as he finished running, the actor went on his Twitter page and gushed about the experience.
“Many supporters in the crowd yelling encouragement – totally inspiring,” he wrote.
“Highlight was hearing roar of city crowd from 59th St Bridge. Chills.”
Of his performance, he wrote: “What a day. Went great. Did 3:48. Hoped for 3:30 but this course was tough! 14-19 was toughest. 2nd wind, sailed from 20 to end. great fun.”
He later explained: “It surpassed all my expectations in terms of the experience.
“My shins and Achilles were flawless. I got a real lift around Mile 20, and it carried me right through the end. I felt great.”
Norton ran for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, which aims to preserve the ecosystem and culture of the 7,000-member tribe in Kenya.
By Sunday, Norton and 29 other runners had collected more than $760,000 in sponsorship.
Also running for the group was the singer Alanis Morissette and two members of the tribe.
“Parashi & Sunte suffered cramps/dehydration (they won’t drink!) but finished bravely,” Norton said of the tribesmen. “Both amazed by experience.”
“I loved all of the people watching,” said Parashi Ntanin, who finished in 3:33:54. “They gave me power.”
Morissette, who described herself as a “jock”, finished in 4:28:45.
“The crowds were adorable and hardcore,” Morissette said. “You could feel the intensity in the air. Even the birds were swirling around in unusual ways.”
