Courteney Cox said she has been “blazing” the cougar trail for years as her husband David Arquette is much younger than her.
The 45-year-old actress, who stars in new show Cougar Town, has been married to actor David, 38, for 10 years and they have a five-year-old daughter Coco together.
Talking about the term ‘cougar’, she said to British magazine OK!: “I’ve been blazing that trail for 10 years – David is much younger than me! I think it’s great to be a cougar if that’s what they are called.
“I just don’t know what the term is for a man who dates a younger woman.”
Courteney was asked about the age gap and what it is like to date a younger man.
She said: “It’s seven years. I do see the appeal for sure. Why not go for a younger guy?
“I think it’s empowering for women to know that there are a lot of men who find older women very attractive and love the experience and knowledge that they can bring to the table.”
