DJ AM’s Cause of Death

Posted on October 2, 2009 (Tammy)

DJ AM’s official cause of death has been released earlier this week. According to the New York City Medical examiner, the entertainer’s death was ruled as accidental due to substance abuse. The results of the autopsy showed acute intoxication due to the combination of cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole, a drug commonly used to cut cocaine. That’s such a sad truth to learn considering his very public battle with drugs and his efforts to stay sober and help other people become clean as well. We may never know what drove DJ AM back to doing drugs. I just hope people can walk away from this with the lesson to not go near the stuff.
