Mariah Carey gets Precious about movie moustache
Mariah Carey has revealed how she tried to secretly remove a moustache that had been painted on her face for a new movie – but was caught out by the film’s director.
The singer plays a dowdy social worker in new flick, Precious, and was forced to undergo a transformation to make her look as unattractive as possible, which included having facial hair painted onto her face.
When Carey caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror, she attempted to cover up the moustache with make-up.
The usually glamorous star said: “I was like, ‘This is so ugly man.’
“It was a mission to make me look as homely as possible.
“[So] I tried to sneak a little blush on.”
She added: “I had no make-up underneath my eyes and the overhead lighting was not my friend.”
But she said she was caught out by director, Lee Daniels, who forced her to wipe off the make-up.
The film is based on the novel, Push by Sapphire, and charts the life of a teenage mother who struggles to escape her abusive home life.
