Sienna Miller wins praise for Broadway debut

Sienna Miller has made her Broadway debut in Patrick Marber’s steamy play After Miss Julie.
And she was praised by theatergoers in New York – but failed to get a standing ovation from the audience.
Sienna, 27, plays aristocrat Miss Julie in the play which is set in 1945 London.
Fellow Brit, Jonny Lee Miller, 36, plays John, the chauffeur of Sienna’s character’s father.
The class and sex drama, by August Strindberg, has been updated from the original 1888 version.
“Tonight was her first time, and that’s absolutely amazing,” Ruth Pferdehirt, 23, an actress from Queens, New York said.
She told a local newspaper: “She’s pretty fearless. She really embodies the role.”
“The nature of bringing a movie star to Broadway is on the fact that they’re a big name, but she actually delivers,” Michael Holmes, 37, a graphic designer from Queens, New York told the New York Daily News. “It’s nice to see a star on Broadway that can actually do it.”
Miller also won praise for stopping to sign autographs as she left the American Airlines Theater on Friday night.
