Harry Potter star Emma Watson has denied reports she is planning to quit acting to go to university.
The 19-year-old actress, who plays brainy witch Hermione Granger in the film series, admitted she is going to university but she is not planning to quit movies altogether.
She said: “I think it’s going to be hard. I think audiences will identify me with that character for a long, long time. I’ve just got to try to convince directors that I can play other roles.
“It would be very naive of me not to be aware that that might be an issue, but it’s not impossible.”
Emma added: “The media don’t really understand my decision to go to university.
“They think that’s a bit odd, so they’re saying it means I’m giving up acting, which it doesn’t at all – it means I’m taking a bit of a break for a couple of years.”
