Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has flown to Mumbai to see the child stars of the film and announced he is buying them new homes

Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has flown to Mumbai to see the child stars of the film and announced he is buying them new homes.
Boyle, 53, flew out to see children Rubina Ali, nine, and Azharuddin Ismail, 10, after it was revealed their homes had been destroyed by officials so a railway station could be built.
He revealed that a flat had been bought for Ismail, and Ali would also soon have a new home, too.
The children were pictured crying amid the rubble after their homes were destroyed and Ismail reportedly sobbed: “I wish Danny uncle would come.”
Boyle returned to ensure the children were benefiting from the £500,000 trust that was set up to look after them after they appeared in the Oscar-winning film.
He said: “I have seen their homes being knocked down, and that has upset me a great deal. They have never been far from my thoughts.”
He added: “It is only now that the trust has been able to put in place a workable plan.”
