Sarah Jessica Parker rejected an adultery story line in the new Sex & The City movie – after reports her own husband had been cheating on her.

The actress – who is also a producer on the film sequel – insisted that the script was changed, according to US reports.

It was initially planned that her character, Carrie Bradshaw, would be seen struggling with husband Big’s infidelities, film insiders say.

A source said: “The first movie ended with Carrie and Big, Sarah and Chris Noth’s characters, happily married. But producers wanted to add tension and conflict to the sequel.

“Their challenge is to give audiences something juicy.

“And one of the first ideas that surfaced was Carrie in crisis over a cheating Big.”

But the screen beauty, 44, had other ideas, according to a published report.

An insider said: “I think the subplot hit way too close to home.”

Her 12-year marriage to 47-year-old actor Matthew Broderick hit headlines when it was alleged he had an affair with a 25-year-old redhead.

The couple are now getting ready to welcome twins through a surrogate.
