American Apparel gets back at Woody Allen
Woody Allen’s case against American Apparel is turning out to be more than just the illegal use of Woody Allen’s image for their billboards and website straight from his Oscar-winning Annie hall film in 1977. This is not your ordinary boring legal proceedings because it has been spiced up with sex and scandal. Woody Allen filed a $10 million case versus American Apparel, brand which he called sleazy, low-end and infantile. Now, look who’s talking.
American Apparel has turned Woody Allen’s words against him as the company pulled out the Soon-Yi issue to prove that Woody Allen’s image is not worth that much at all because it has been tainted by the scandal involving him and his longtime girlfriend Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi. American Apparel said Woody Allen’s sex scandal has diminished not only his image but also his commercial value.
