Jessica Simpson joins Macy’s campaign to bring Santa back
Yes, there is a Santa Claus and thousands of children in the United States would appreciate this fact more with the airing of Jessica Simpson’s commercials in support of Macy’s Believe campaign. Ms. Simpson is only one of the many celebrities lending their names and faces to the giant retailer’s campaign to make children believe that there is indeed a Santa Claus.
You may have already seen the commercial which started Sunday and which also features Tommy Hilfiger, Donald Tramp, Carlos Ponce, Carlo Santana, Martha Stewart and Ana de la Reguera, Simpson and the other participating celebrities will recite the line taken from the famous New York Sun editorial published in 1897. There will also be advertisement spots in the newspapers which will not look like the traditional advertisements but will invade the editorial.
The campaign encourages children to write letters to Santa using his North Pole address. However, instead of mailing the letters they should be sent through any of Macy’s Believe Stations all over the US. There will also be letter-writing stations in all Macy stores. Each letter received by Macy will earn $1 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and will grant the wishes of children who are seriously ill. To celebrate its 150th year, Macy will donate up to $1,000,000 to the Foundation.
Jessica has always been more than a pretty face and is Operation Smile’s International Youth Ambassador. Operation Smile provides reconstructive surgery to children in the US and in 25 developing countries for free.
