Cynthia Nixon’s Kids Learn a Lesson in Giving

Former Sex in the City star Cynthia Nixon believes in the importance of giving back to the community. She also believes in the importance of teaching those values to her children.
Nixon says her children, Samantha (age 11) and Charles (age 4), are “not too young to learn about giving back”. She made this comment at the launch of the Curel Lends a Helping Hand Campaign. The campaign auctioned off the hand prints of celebrities to raise money for the American Red Cross.
Nixon, age 41, is raising her children in the Jewish faith. She says that “last year we all had a meeting with a rabbi, who said it’s good to let your children know what their parents values are.”
She says she focuses on public schools. “My kids go to public school. I went to public school, got a great education. It wasn’t a tough decision.” She states that she tries to bring public awareness to increase funding to the public schools. This came as an easy step since her partner Christine Marinoni works as an education advocate through the Alliance for Quality Education.
Kudos to Cynthia for being a role model to mothers everywhere.
