Beyonce to Play Aida
The story Aida is about a Nubian princess that is captured by an Egyptian captain. It?s a Broadway production that is being brought to the big screen. The ?Dreamgirls? actress, Beyonce Knowles is reportedly in discussion with Walt Disney Studios to play the lead role in the Giuseppe Verdi opera. The role has been played previously by Toni Braxton and Beyonce?s own fellow Destiny?s Child member Michelle Williams. I don?t take a personal interest in anything Beyonce does and I doubt that this will be any different. I?m sure the production will be great and the story beautiful but I won?t be able to sit through two hours of Beyonce. The piece is said to be an opera but I don?t see her being capable of doing any opera. Maybe they will just change everything to make it easier to film like they do with books and so many other pieces of work. If that?s the case it will hardly be worth watching.
