The winners, or even the quirky contestants, get some instant fame once they get under the lights of American Idol. But there?s never been a craze as big as the one that surrounded Idol runner up Clay Aiken. And as proof of that, there?s a musical about it.
Idol: The Musical begins performances at Off-Broadway?s 45th Street Theatre in New York City next week. The show may have the title ?Idol? but the focus of the musical is about the idol worship of Clay Aiken. And yes, pun was intended.
