If you haven’t gotten wind of rumors that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are divorcing, you most likely live under a rock. The NY Daily News even reported that JLo and her hubby will be divorcing right after Valentine’s Day. The couple’s reps are speaking out now though. Their publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik spoke out about the Valentine’s divorce piece saying that “There is no merit to the article”. Marc’s rep also spoke out saying that none of the rumors are true. Considering that they are paid to lie, they did a pretty good job. I just wish they came up with something better to say given the time that has passed since the rumors started coming out.
Beyonce grew up rich and that’s why she thinks she’s better than you. The singer has raised some eyebrows and angered many with a very interesting interview with Elle magazine. She said “I grew up upper-class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.” Burn! Even her mom Tina spoke out about their family. She says that one day, dad/manager Matthew took Beyonce, sister Solange and some friends to a bad part of Houston. Tina said “He had my kids talking to the homeless people there. I told him, ‘Mathew, that could have been dangerous.’ He said, ‘I want them to feel their songs, not just sing them.’” These people are crazy.
John Mayer blogs again but this time, he went to Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz’s official blog to list his Top 5 things, moments, people, music, books, art of 2008. John’s list goes like this “5. Apple TV and group YouTubing, 4. E-Flite mCX Remote Control Helicopters, 3. Kings of Leon – ‘Only By The Night’, 2. Wireless internet on airplanes, 1. President-Elect Barack Obama”. Pete also described John as a “guitarist (like that should be in all capitals) - just when you think you’re in the game with him he laps you - one of my go-to guys to learn about music or life - p.s. you dont want to think hes that funny in real life but he is even funnier.” Douche bags stick together.
Britney Spears began the year stretched to a journey and committed against her will at the psych ward but now it looks like her year has a happy ending. It’s been a tremendous turnaround for the recovered pop star and it we can only hope that it will get better. For the holidays, Britney Spears posted a holiday greeting on her official website which features a happy picture of her with her two sons. I hope that 2009 will be a consistently positive year for her.
Leona Lewis found herself getting some handcuffs from a police officer on the set of her latest music video ‘I Will Be’ in Brooklyn, New York. ‘Gossip Grirl’ actor Chace Crawford will be making a cameo in the video. A source told People how the UK singer and the actor met saying “Chace went to London a couple months ago for meetings and to promote Gossip Girl. He went to a party and ended up meeting Leona. [The two] hit it off and talk every once in a while and have become fast friends… A couple weeks ago Leona called Chace and asked if he would be in her next video. He obviously said yes.”
We finally have a date and a title for the new U2 album! The band’s upcoming ‘No Line on the Horizon’ is set to drop in North America on March 23, 2009, Tuesday. This will be the Irish group’s 12th album! Their last effort ‘How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb’ was released back in 2004 and sold over 9 million copies. The groups has recorded their upcoming effort all over the world. They began last year in Morocco and then did some work in their studio in Ireland. They also recorded some tracks in New York and London. Let’s see how all those different locations affected their music. I can’t wait to hear it.
Hey that’s really cool you know, John Mayer did his bit to spread holiday cheer. That when the played a private concert in New York at a children’s hospital. 95.5 WPLJ-FM organized the performance as part of the 17th Annual Holiday Concert at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in the Big Apple on Monday.
But he made an extended stay thereafter to sign autographs for ill kids at the event, and his efforts raised a cool $250,000 for the hospital. Now that’s what I would call star power and using it for the right cause and a the right time.
Those kids would be feeling a bit low if not miserable when the Christmas festivities in New York would be at its peak and at that time for one of their favorite star to come there especially for them and perform and sign autographs would make them feel so special.
Reports have been going around that Nicole Richie is set to work on an album but it seems that the rumors aren’t true. The NY Daily News first reported that the 27-year old mom enlisted the help of Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne to prepare the release of her debut solo album. They even quoted a source saying “Rihanna and Kelly are coaching Nicole and giving her tips on how to perform.” However, Nicole’s rep says that “While Nicole respects Rhianna and thinks she is immensely talented, she is not currently working on an album and hence, not currently working with Rihanna as has been recently reported.”
Jennifer Lopez might be looking at a fourth marriage. Looks like things aren’t going well with Marc Anthony.
Turns out he’s a bit of a control freak and doesn’t help out with their twin babies. Us Weekly reports:
“He’s very, very controlling of her,” a close Anthony pal tells Us. “The skirts aren’t as short. You don’t see so much of that booty anymore.” The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls.
But Lopez — who once claimed she “loved getting his opinions” — has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme.
“She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies,” a longtime friend tells Us. “With him, it’s almost like, ‘Ugh, they’re crying again?’”
