A glove made for Michael Jackson’s Suit of Lights is expected to fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars in an auction of his possessions in October

Profiles in History auctioneer Joseph Maddalena said: “I estimate [the value] at $60,000 to $80,000 but now it could sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Maddalena’s comment was made in light of the star’s death pushing the value of Jackson memorabilia through the roof.

The ‘Gloved One’s’ white glove is one of only two that could sell in the six figures because only two were made for the “Suit of Lights” that Jackson wore on stage, the auctioneer claims.

The glove is emblazoned with bugle beads, Austrian crystal rhinestones and fitted with 50 small lights powered by a battery inside the cuff which make its lights twinkle at random.

Maddalena claims Jackson gave him the glove and kept the other and that the item comes with a letter of authenticity from its designer.

Maddalena says the item was consigned by glove designer Ted Shell and worn by the singer on the Jacksons’ 1984 Victory tour.

Shell, he said, was hired to maintain the gloves while the tour ran.

Maddalena added: “Michael Jackson is ‘The Gloved One’. That’s his nickname. That is one thing he’ll be remembered for.”

Johnny Depp has admitted he has lost track of how many tattoos he has.

The actor made the confession as he revealed his latest mark - a dedication to his girlfriend and two children on his upper left arm.

Depp, who has two children, Lily-Rose and Jack with Vanessa Paradis, said: “I don’t know how many there are but yeah, they all mean something.

“My most recent tattoo was probably that [shows top of left arm]. That’s Vanessa, Lily-Rose and Jack.”

Depp, who is also a guitar player, spoke out about Michael Jackson’s death and revealed that his music inspired him.

He said: “Certainly, the Jackson 5 when I was a kid growing up and stuff, the Jackson 5 were a huge inspiration to me musically and he was such a gifted artist.

“It’s hard you know, these kiddies have lost a father, and parents have lost their child, and brothers and sisters have lost a brother, so it’s so awful, but I mean aside from that, there is this amazing legacy that he’s left behind and well, he’s one for the ages, isn’t he?”

Plans for a Broadway musical based on Michael Jackson’s Thriller album have been put on hold following the singer’s sudden death.

The New York-based Nederlander organisation announced in January it had acquired the stage rights to the 14-minute 1982 video that accompanied the disc.

It hoped to create a stage show of the film - shot by The Blues Brothers director John Landis.

Producer Jimmy Nederlander said: “Everything’s ready to go, [but] we’re going to have to see where the future lies for everything. Right now, we’re grieving the loss of Michael.”

Another spokesman for the organisation said: “We just don’t know what’s going to happen.

“We may know more in the next week or two.”

It has been claimed that Jacko’s death in Los Angeles last Thursday may have complicated the question of rights to the properties.

The Nederlander show was reportedly to have combined songs from both Thriller and another Jackson album Off the Wall.

Jackson himself was said to have been keen to be involved in the project.

A second Michael Jackson stage vehicle, a tribute show called Thriller Live, is currently running in London’s West End and in Manchester.

In the video, the 39-year-old diva dresses a lot like Eminem. The singer seems to be responding to Slim Shady’s unflattering references to her and her husband Nick Cannon from Eminem’s track “Bagpipes From Baghdad.”
In the song “Obsessed,” Mariah reportedly tells Eminem: “Why are you so obsessed with me/ Boy, I wanna know/ Lying that you’re sexing me/ When everybody knows/ It’s clear that you’re upset with me….You’re delusional/ Boy, you’re losing your mind.”
The video was directed by Brett Ratner, who originally cast Andy Samberg for the role of the man. But because it’s presumably anti-Eminem, he backed out and Mariah filled in for the role of the man.

It is being reported that Madonna’s final album with Warner Brothers is going to be called ‘Iconography’. The greatest hits collection will include three new tracks. The album is also said to be looking at a mid-September release. It looks like September will be the month of the divas. Barbara Streisand will be releasing an album of all new material on the same month. Whitney Houston’s comeback album ‘Undefeated’ will also be out in September. And Mariah Carey’s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ will also see a September release. How will Madonna’s album hold up in the battle of the divas? Who do you think is going to come out on top?

Mischa Barton has admitted she tried to lose her British accent when she went to live in New York.

The OC star, 23, revealed that most people do not realise that she is originally from the UK or that her family are British.

She said: “I’m British, although everyone thinks I’m American… but my entire family is British and I’ve been raised as a Brit.

“But nobody can get their head around the fact I’m anything but a Hollywood girl. In the US, nobody thinks of me as American and [in the UK], nobody believes I’m British.”

She added: “I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I consciously tried to lose my English accent. When I lived in New York, I tried really hard to ditch the British accent to fit in.

“It’s a mess – I don’t sound like I’m from anywhere any more.”

Michael Jackson’s family has its suspicion about Dr. Conrad Murray and what exactly happened on the day that the singer died. A source close to the family says that the feel that the physician shouldn’t be cleared of any wrongdoing just yet. The family has requested a second autopsy to find out what the last drug Michael took was. The family feels that once those results are revealed, that a criminal investigation will take place. Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am has spoken out about being the last person to work with Michael Jackson before his death.

Michael was 50 when he died suddenly after reportedly suffering a heart attack and Will told how he worked with the star on a new album.

He said: “It was going to be out of this world. It’s something Michael has never done before – a dance music album. I was very proud of it. But he was very protective and kept it under lock and key.

“After we made it I had to hand back every demo. He was a perfectionist and didn’t want anyone to hear it until it was ready.”

The star told how he worked with Michael for a year in a studio in Ireland and he talked about the last time he spoke to Michael. He said: “The last time I spoke to Michael was on Father’s Day.

“He called me to wish me happy Father’s Day even though I don’t have any children. He said: ‘I just wanted to call and say have a good day anyway.’

“I told him: ‘OK, I will grab my crotch and wish myself happy Father’s Day for all my unborn children.’ He laughed and said: ‘You’re so funny.’ I tried calling him last week, but he was always in rehearsals.

“It’s so sad. He was my friend and the biggest inspiration of my life. I’m going to miss him.”

Will said Michael’s choreographer visited him at a recent gig and told how the star wanted the Black Eyed Peas to open his London shows.

He said: “He came over and told me Michael wanted to get the Peas to open his gigs at the O2. Man, that would have been so amazing. Imagine us together on stage. Awesome.”

Legendary star Jerry Lewis will revive the Nutty Professor for a stage version of the 1963 film he co-wrote - but this time he will direct.

The story of Professor Julius Kelp, the ugly chemistry teacher with no social life, will launch on Broadway for the 2010-2011 season with music by the multi-awardwinning Marvin Hamlisch, 65, and a book and lyrics by Rupert Holmes.

Kelp in the original movie is transformed by an elixir into Buddy Love, a character who is very successful with women.

The popular story was reprised in a comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Jada Pinkett in 1996 for the big screen.

Hamlisch’s credits include Lost in Translation, The Sting and The Spy Who Loved Me.

Lewis, 83, last appeared on Broadway in 1995 in a revival of Damn Yankees.

New York actress Liv Tyler has started talk of a mystery man after being spotted out with a new male companion.

Tyler, 31, split from her ex-husband UK singer Royston Langdon last year. She was seen in the West Village with her son Milo and a companion in a trilby and a grey casual T-shirt. Tyler, long hair flowing, looked relaxed and happy in a flowing print dress.

She recently spoke of the trials of getting over a broken marriage. “There’s nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It’s like there’s a physical sickness.”

She continued: “You go through a couple of weeks where you think ‘Oh, I’m OK, I feel better,’ and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits you again.’”

She also said: “The hardest part is when they leave. It also brings up a lot of issues – you might feel like a failure, or like there is something wrong with you.”

Simon Cowell could be offered up to $144 million USD-a-year to host American Idol, according to reports.

Cowell is said to have made US$36 million last year for judging the television talent show.

But producers are willing to pay out up to three or four times that amount to get the acid-tongued presenter to stay with the show when his contract expires next May.

According to the New York Post, American Idol makes around US$900 million a year.

TV network Fox has declined to comment about the salary negotiations.

A representative for Cowell, 49, was unavailable for comment.

The British schoolboy “snubbed” by Megan Fox has been flown to New York to meet her - even though she is not there.

Harvey Kindlon, 11, found instant notoriety after he was pictured trying to hand the actress a rose - and the Transformers 2 star marched straight passed.

Megan later gave a groveling apology, calling him a “sweet boy” and adding: “I would gladly accept your rose if I see you again.”

But the London schoolboy missed out again in his bids to meet Megan after he was flown to New York to meet her at almost the exact same time she was flying out.

Kodak flew Harvey to New York in a PR stunt wit the aim to confront Megan while she was booked to appear on American TV’s The Today Show.

But Megan was bumped from the show because of blanket coverage of Michael Jackson’s death - and the star flew home to Los Angeles with no idea that Kodak and Harvey were hoping to meet her.

“Kodak basically put this kid on a plane on the off-chance that he’d get to meet her,” a source said.

“They never even confirmed with ‘Today’.”

A spokesman for Today confirmed that they were not part of the planned meeting.

“Harvey was never scheduled to appear and we don’t plan to have him on.”

Kodak did not respond to calls.

Megan insists that she did not deliberately snub the schoolboy when he tried to hand her the flower during the premiere in London.

“There were, like, 80 million people everywhere. It was dark, all I see are flashes. Everyone’s yelling different things… and I didn’t know that was happening,” she insisted.

“I feel so sad for him. That’s so terrible. That kills me.

“I’m sorry, sweet boy. I would never do that to you and I would gladly accept your rose if I see you again. I’m so embarrassed.”

Bradley Cooper has moved to flatten rumours that he and Jennifer Aniston are becoming an item.

Cooper said: “She’s a friend of mine. Simply, simply just a friend.” When informed there was talk of a relationship, Cooper reportedly laughed and responded: “Who talked about it? It wasn’t me. It was someone else.”

Cooper was in Paris to promote his latest movie, the overnight box office sensation The Hangover.

“In America, it’s not like it is here,” he said. “She’s someone who is super, super known. Famous. If someone says ‘hello’ to her, it’s given that he’s fallen in love with her. So, no. No. She’s a very, very interesting woman, but she’s simply a friend.”

The pair, who were spotted having dinner together on June 18, worked on the dating flick He’s Just Not That Into You.

“We made a film together but we didn’t have any scenes together,” Cooper said. “I got hired in at the beginning of the casting, and my part was solely with Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelly. Which isn’t bad at all.”

The Paris comments, made while attending an engagement for Louis Vuitton, were the second time Cooper has dampened the Aniston story.

An attorney for Debbie Rowe, the surrogate mother to two of Michael Jackson’s children, has denied she gave an interview claiming he isn’t their father.

In an article published in British newspaper News of the World, it was claimed that Rowe said a sperm donor had been used to conceive his eldest two children - Prince, 12, and Paris, 11.

It also claimed in the interview that Rowe said she had no interest in going for custody of the children since Jackson’s recent death.

However, Rowe’s attorney, Marta Almli, has now said: “The interview did not occur. The article is a complete fabrication.”

With regards to custody of the children, Almli said she was not answering questions about custody of the children at that point.

Jennifer Lopez is stopping production of her Sweetface clothing line in the US. The line is an urban street wear spinoff of the JLo line. It launched in 2003 and was initially successful but eventually lost steam. The actress and singer plans to re-launch the line after some major revisions. Good luck with that. While you’re at it, maybe you can do some major revisions on her film and music career too. I’m thinking that she may be spreading herself thin actually. She’s currently filming a movie and said to be already working on a new album and is now making an overhaul on one of her clothing lines. We can’t have anything half assed.

Queen Latifah is expanding her empire with a new scent by Parlux Fragrances. According to People, ‘Queen by Queen Latifah’ will feature notes of mandarin, jasmine, cognac, Moroccan coriander and Egyptian musk housed in a ruby red bottle embossed with a heart. It all sounds so royal! The singer explained why she wanted to do a perfume, saying “Beauty really does start on the inside. It’s like a state of mind, a state of love, if you will. So I see a fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: Scent expresses a woman’s confidence and sensuality, it’s how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength.” The scent will be available in August.

Beyonce has kicked off her FIERCE summer tour in New York City last week. She was lovingly accompanied by her hubby, rapper Jay-Z, for a couple of her numbers and the duo put on a very good show. I guess they work well together both as couple and as performers. But then again, we knew all about that when they did a couple of duets together. I’m getting tired of it actually. I can’t believe there’s another leg of a Beyonce tour that we have to suffer through. Why can’t she get affected by the recession? Or she could at least just take a break and spare us.

Now that tragedy has struck the Jackson family, it seems that Debbie Rowe, the woman who bore Michael Jackson two of his children, has every chance of getting back the custody rights she gave up a few years back. Even though the children are with Michael Jackson’s mother at the present, it seems there are very little things that would prevent Debbie Rowe from taking custody. One of them will be a court order if set court determines it would be harmful to the children. Also, in addition to the children, Debbie Rowe would also be receiving child support from Michael Jackson’s estate… but one has to ask one’s self: what estate? The four hundred million dollar in debt estate? There’s not going to be too much money for child support coming out of there in the foreseeable future.

Matt Damon is struggling to land his dream home - because of his wife’s past as a bartender, it has been claimed.

The Bourne Identity star is said to have found a perfect multi-million-dollar apartment on New York’s posh Upper East side with views over the city’s Central Park.

But he is having problems getting past Manhattan’s notoriously snooty co-op boards, who rigorously vet potential buyers before they move in.

And sources claim that the actor’s 33-year-old wife Luciana Barroso - who used to work tending bars in her native Miami before becoming an interior decorator - could be to blame.

A property insider told a US newspaper: “They don’t have a prayer.”

Potential buyers of co-op apartments must submit their earnings and detailed financial information to a board made up of other apartment owners.

A US newspaper reports: “People in the entertainment industry are a hard-enough sell. Damon’s wife - who once worked as a bartender… is a deal-breaker, say sources.”

Damon, 38, already owns an apartment in downtown Manhattan, as well as properties in Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California.

Michael Jackson’s attorney says he warned his entire family that one day the superstar could “wake up dead” because of his life-threatening use of painkillers.

Brian Oxman, Jackson family attorney, said he voiced grave fears that the King of Pop could suffer the same fate as tragic Playboy model Anna Nicola Smith, who died from overdosing on prescription drugs in 2007.

“I said to them (his family members) that if this situation arises where Michael Jackson perishes because of medications – my words were that if one day he wakes up and he’s dead because of these medications – I will not hold my tongue, I will speak out and I will speak out loud.

“I had warned everyone. I said one day, we’re going to have this experience. And when Anna Nicole Smith passed away, I said we cannot have this kind of thing with Michael Jackson.

“I don’t know what caused his death, but I feared this day and here we are.”

Oxman said Jackson’s use of painkillers started back in 1984 after his hair accidentally set alight while filming a TV commercial.

“It caused him such pain, he didn’t like to feel discomfort so he started taking pain medications then.

“He also fell off a stage and cracked a vertebrae in his back, and he also broke his leg.

“Those two things were constant sources of pain, they made him fall down it was so painful and he took the medications because of that pain. It became part of his life.”

The brother of Michael Jackson last night revealed doctors and paramedics spent an hour trying to revive the pop star.

Jermaine Jackson held a news conference at UCLA Medical Centre just hours after his brother died at the age of 50.

He told how medical staff had attempted to resuscitate the King of Pop before finally declaring him dead.

Jermaine said: “My brother, the legendary King of Pop Michael Jackson, passed away on Thursday June 25 2009 at 2.26pm.

“It is believed that he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until the coroner results of the autopsy are known.

“His personal physician, who was with him at the time, he attempted to resuscitate my brother. And as did the paramedics who transported him Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre.

“Upon arriving at the hospital at approx 1.14pm a team of doctors including emergency physicians and cardiologist attempted to resuscitate him for over an hour. They were unsuccessful.

Farrah Fawcett’s Charlie Angel’s co-stars have paid tribute to the actress who has passed away after a three-year battle with cancer.

After her departure from the hit show, Fawcett was replaced by actress Cheryl Ladd, who has expressed her sadness about Farrah’s passing.

“I’m terribly sad about Farrah’s passing. She was incredibly brave, and God will be welcoming her with open arms,” Ladd said.

And Fawcett’s former Charlie’s Angel co-star Jaclyn Smith also expressed her sadness, adding: “Farrah had courage, she had strength, and she had faith. And now she has peace as she rests with the real angels.”

Celebrities are moonlighting as guides to the jewel of New York – Central Park.

The voices of Candice Bergen, Kevin Bacon and Anne Hathaway will guide park goers around the park via a dial-in audio service.

“Want to know where to find New York’s most famous celebrities? Just call!” says the voice on the end of the audio recording for the Seeing Central Park audio guide on the Central Park Conservancy website.

The celebrities have their own areas for the tours. Hathaway introduces the Delacorte Theater, Matthew Broderick, the Sheep Meadow, Isabella Rossellini, the Ramble and Kevin Bacon, the Reservoir.

Bacon says: “Hi, this is Kevin Bacon at the Reservoir in Central Park. There’s a line in the novel Marathon Man where the main character decides, whoever invented the Reservoir must have done it with him alone in mind. It was without flaw a perfect lake set in the most unexpected of locations.

“All of us who come here to run, walk our dogs or to watch the sun rise over the water feel that same way. There’s a sense of space and solitude here, unlike any other part of the park.

President Bill Clinton, Madonna and Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who the Reservoir was named for in 1994, are among the runners who have taken to this 1.85-mile track. The Reservoir has even been a popular running spot for fictional film and TV characters like Keanu Reeves in The Devil’s Advocate and Kristin Davis in Sex And The City.”

The audio recording declares: “In New York, you’re nobody until you play in the park!”

The singer apparently misses her old British home so much that she is going to turn her New York apartment into an exact replica of the mansion she used to live in. A source related the following about Madonna’s redecorating plans: “She doesn’t seem to want to give her old place up. Living there was like living in a dream. It would have been easier if she had just asked Guy Ritchie if she could take everything from Ashcombe with her. She has ordered her staff to go out and troll the Upper East Side boutiques for candelabras, side tables, and period chaises.” It seems Mercy James will have a fully furnished British home to return to in the future. It’s great that Madonna is going to give her children even more diversity. This gets me thinking of that old song: a British man in New York.

The front man of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien’s house band just failed to auction off his baby blue 1957 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. It’s probably a good thing because honestly, who the hell would want to get rid of that? Max Weinberg, also of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, tried to sell his sweet ride at the Hamptons Auto Classic in New York recently. Organizers were hoping to get $150,000 for it. Max doesn’t need to feel bad though. Of the 68 cars that were up for auction at the event, only 12 got sold. I still wonder what possessed him to put the car up for auction. I would just keep it.

Friends star Lisa Kudrow has reunited with Courteney Cox for an episode of her online comedy series Web Therapy.

Kudrow, 45, plays Dr Fiona Wallice in the series about a dubious therapist with no formal training who offers advice in three-minute time slots over the net.

Kudrow said: “She’s the worst, she’s really self-serving, really horrible.

“For the second season, we have Courteney Cox, she’s hilarious.

“We also have Alan Cumming, who is fantastic, and Steven Weber. They emailed me and said they liked my web series. I said, ‘Great - be on it.’”

The first series of Kudrow’s made-for-the-internet shows received a Webby Award – the internet version of an Emmy or Oscar.

Cox will appear with Kudrow in the July 6 webisode as a psychic who used to get visions through her dreams.

When the visions no longer come to her, she seeks out Kudrow who dispenses her advice via webcam.

It is the first time they have appeared together since Friends ended in 2004.

Heath Ledger’s apartment in New York is heading into foreclosure amid a dispute by two investors in the building, according to an Australian report.

Ledger was found dead of an overdose of a number of prescription drugs in the Soho apartment in January of 2008.

The tragic actor’s fourth-floor apartment has been empty since his death. The star had paid rent on the three-bedroom apartment at $22,000 per month for five months prior to his death, it was reported.

After he was discovered naked in his bedroom, media and onlookers crowded outside the building. Australian band Eskimo Joe has released a chilling radio hit single about the event, Foreign Land, which occurred while they were on tour in New York.

“New York is a big bad city in some respects,” singer Kav Temperley said recently. “It’s got a coldness and loneliness to it. And this young man dying in a foreign land – we felt the loneliness of the situation.”

The investors in question are millionaire Donald Burns and Brazilian artist Junia Neiva who are locked in a court battle. A rental listing for $26,000 was removed this year, the report says.

Visitors to New York’s famous Central Park can now get a guided tour of the attraction, voiced by a galaxy of stars.

Actors Anne Hathaway, Whoopi Goldberg, Glenn Close and Sigourney Weaver are among those who have recorded special messages about the park’s landmarks.

Tourists and locals will be able to call a special telephone number on signs throughout the park to hear about specific features on their mobile phones.

Among the 30-plus New York-based celebs who have signed up for the scheme are comedian Jerry Seinfeld, actor Matthew Broderick, and John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono.

They share history, trivia and personal memories of the park on the new audio tour.

“I am honoured to welcome you to Strawberry Fields,” Yoko Ono says on her segment, explaining the origins of the meditative monument to husband John Lennon’s life and work.

“This is where I learned to skate,” Whoopi says of Wollman Rink. “Yeah - me. On skates!”

The tours are aimed at both tourists and New Yorkers who want to learn more about the park, Central Park Conservancy President Doug Blonsky said.

“People have a whole different respect for things when they know the history of it,” he said.

The messages, which average two to three minutes long, also highlight the work of the conservancy, and a message afterwards suggests people support the group’s efforts.

Katie Price has hit out at her estranged husband Peter Andre on her Twitter page.

The 31-year-old model is currently shooting her new calendar in Ibiza, and her husband Peter, 36, is looking after their three children.

Katie has been hesitant to talk about her marriage split but she recently posted a message on her Twitter page that said: “loving ibiza cant wait to see my children when there back from cyprus! pete being a true c*** to me! he left me nt me leave him.”

Her friend later posted another message dismissing reports that Katie isn’t coping after the split.

The message said: “this is kates friend julie kate is coping with things.. this was not her decision an etting very unfair press,”
